LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM – The Kampung Rakyat Police have stepped up efforts to combat drug-related crimes following the arrest of a suspected methamphetamine dealer in Perkebunan Perlabian Village, Kampung Rakyat District, on Friday evening (May 22, 2026).
The operation was carried out by officers from the Kampung Rakyat Police Sector (Polsek Kampung Rakyat) under the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police Resort (Polres Labuhanbatu Selatan). Kampung Rakyat Police, Chief AKP Muhammad Ilham Lubis, representing Labuhanbatu Selatan Police, Chief AKBP Aditya S.P. Sembiring Muham, emphasized that there is zero tolerance for drug-related offenses.
"Once we received the report from the public, we immediately instructed the Criminal Investigation Unit to conduct surveillance and enforcement. There is no tolerance for drug crimes in our jurisdiction," AKP Muhammad Ilham Lubis stated on Saturday (May 24, 2026).

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit IPDA Riswaldi Nainggolan, S.H., and his team conducted surveillance at around 7:00 p.m. local time (WIB) at a known gathering point. Officers observed a man behaving suspiciously by the roadside.The suspect was immediately apprehended and searched. Police discovered a transparent plastic bag containing 2.01 grams of methamphetamine (locally known as "sabu"), along with an Oppo A5i mobile phone allegedly used in drug transactions.

The police urged residents to report any suspicious activity through the emergency hotline 110.
