Polsek Torgamba Delivers Aid to Elderly Residents in Labuhanbatu Selatan

DELIVERY OF BASIC FOOD AID: Police Chief AKP Sunipan Gurusinga Hands Over Food Aid Packages to Elderly and Chronically Ill Residents in Aek Batu Village.

LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM Polsek Torgamba carried out a social welfare initiative under the "Jumat Barokah" program by distributing essential aid to elderly and chronically ill residents in Aek Batu Village, Torgamba District, Labuhanbatu Selatan, on Friday, May 22, 2026.

The humanitarian activity, led by AKP Sunipan Gurusinga, began at around 10:00 a.m. local time (WIB). Officers directly visited residents' homes to deliver food supplies and financial assistance.

Social Initiative in Aek Batu Village

The "Jumat Barokah" program is part of the police's ongoing effort to strengthen social engagement with the community. During this visit, officers reached several vulnerable residents living in different hamlets of Aek Batu Village.

Among the beneficiaries were Tumi (78), a resident of Asahan hamlet who is paralyzed following a stroke; Rosmida (57) from Simpang Empat, also a stroke survivor; and Sujira (105), who is suffering from long-term paralysis due to a stroke.

Direct Assistance to Vulnerable Residents

Additional support was also provided to Supiah (50), who is suffering from a skin disease, and Ronauli Br Manik (32), who is living with a mental health condition. The assistance included basic necessities intended to ease their daily needs.

AKP Sunipan Gurusinga personally handed over the aid packages alongside his personnel, ensuring that the support reached the recipients directly at their homes.

Police Commitment to Community Care

He emphasized that the "Jumat Barokah" initiative reflects the police's commitment not only as law enforcers but also as partners of the community.

"We want the police to be present not only in enforcement but also as a friend to society, especially for those in need," he said.

He also encouraged the recipients to remain strong, optimistic, and consistent in continuing their medical care.

"We hope you stay patient and never give up on treatment," he added.

The activity concluded at around 11:30 a.m. WIB and proceeded safely, smoothly, and in an orderly manner. (IDNC)
