INTENSIVE JOINT PATROL: Aceh Tengah Police conduct night patrols across several high-risk areas in Takengon to prevent illegal street racing and maintain public safety.

ACEH TENGAH | INDATANEWS.COM The Aceh Tengah Police have significantly stepped up efforts to maintain public order and safety by intensifying large-scale joint patrols. The operation was carried out in the early hours of Saturday (May 16, 2026) to prevent illegal street racing and potential public disturbances across several high-risk areas in Aceh Tengah Regency.

The initiative not only targets traffic violations but also aims to strengthen the public's sense of security during nighttime and early morning hours.

Coordinated Operation Across Police Units

To ensure maximum effectiveness, the Aceh Tengah Police deployed personnel from multiple units, including the Traffic Unit (Satlantas), Samapta Unit, and local police sectors from Bebesen, Kebayakan, and Lut Tawar. The operation was led by the duty officer, IPTU Musmulyadi, in coordination with Pamapta personnel and supporting units.

Prior to deployment, all personnel gathered at the Aceh Tengah Police headquarters for a briefing session in the yard of the station. The briefing was conducted to align operational strategies and ensure readiness across all targeted zones.

Patrol teams monitored several identified hotspots frequently associated with illegal racing activities and public order disturbances. These included Jalur Dua Kebet, Mongal Simpang Wariji, Belang Kolak Dua, the old bus terminal area, Jalan Lintang, Simpang Empat, as well as parts of central Takengon and the Lut Tawar subdistrict.

To maximize coverage, patrol vehicles from Satlantas, Samapta, Pamapta, and local precinct units were deployed to maintain mobility and rapid response capability.

During the operation, officers also engaged with residents, delivering public safety messages and encouraging community participation in maintaining a safe and orderly environment.

Preventive Strategy Emphasized by Police Chief

Aceh Tengah Police Chief, AKBP Muhamad Taufiq, stressed that the patrols are part of a preventive strategy aimed at reducing potential security disturbances, particularly illegal street racing during peak nighttime hours.

"These patrols are designed to create a sense of security among the public and to prevent disruptions to public order, traffic safety, and traffic flow, especially during vulnerable night and early morning hours," said AKBP Muhamad Taufiq.

Authorities confirmed that no illegal street racing activities were detected during the patrols, indicating that the visible presence of law enforcement continues to have a deterrent effect.

The overall situation across the Aceh Tengah Police jurisdiction remained calm, secure, and under control throughout the operation. The police stated that such patrols will continue to be intensified as part of their commitment to public protection and service. (IDNC)
