ARREST OF SUSPECTED DRUG DEALER: Police from Kampung Rakyat arrest a suspect in a methamphetamine trafficking case in Dusun Perlabian Dalam, Labuhanbatu Selatan, during Operation Antik Toba 2026.

LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM - Police from the Kampung Rakyat Sector Police, under the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police District, have arrested a suspected drug dealer during Operation Antik Toba 2026. Authorities also seized a quantity of methamphetamine (sabu) as part of the ongoing crackdown on narcotics in the region.

The suspect, identified by the initials APD, also known as Anggi (26), is a resident of Kampung Perlabian Village, Kampung Rakyat Subdistrict. He was arrested on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at around 2:00 p.m. WIB behind a house in Dusun Perlabian Dalam.

Police said the operation was launched following public reports of suspected drug-related activity in the area. Acting quickly on the information, officers conducted surveillance before moving in on the suspect.

Under the leadership of IPDA Riswaldi Nainggolan, the criminal investigation unit carried out targeted surveillance at the suspected location. Officers observed suspicious behavior before making the arrest.

The suspect was taken into custody without resistance. During the search, officers confiscated several pieces of evidence, including 1.25 grams of methamphetamine, IDR 175,000 in cash, 30 empty plastic clip bags, a makeshift spoon made from a straw, and a Vivo mobile phone.

Police believe the items were used for packaging and distributing illegal drugs.

During initial questioning, the suspect allegedly admitted that the methamphetamine was obtained from a man identified as Bendol, reportedly operating in the Siluang area. Authorities are now investigating potential links to a wider drug distribution network.

Police stressed that Operation Antik Toba 2026 targets not only major traffickers but also low-level distributors in rural areas, as drug activity continues to spread into villages.
