JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM – The Jambi City Police (Polresta Jambi) Narcotics Unit has arrested a 23-year-old man identified by the initials RP in a drug trafficking case following public reports of suspicious activity.
The suspect, a resident of Pijoan Village, Jambi Luar Kota District, Muaro Jambi Regency, was apprehended on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the security post of a residential complex in Vila Nusa Permata, Paal Lima, Kota Baru District, Jambi City.Police officials said the swift operation was launched after receiving information from residents about alleged drug-related activities in the housing area.

During the arrest, officers conducted a search and found a bag containing illegal narcotics. Police confiscated a total of 84 ecstasy tablets of various brands and colors, along with 103 grams of cannabis packaged in 18 separate bundles.

Investigators also secured two mobile phones (Oppo and Redmi brands) and a black backpack as evidence.

During interrogation, RP admitted that all the narcotics belonged to him. He further stated that he received the drugs from an individual known by the alias "TOMPEL," who is currently under investigation.
"The suspect received the drugs through a drop system and was instructed via WhatsApp to distribute them," said Police Public Relations Officer Iptu Edy Hariyanto.RP, along with the evidence, has been taken to the Polresta Jambi headquarters for further legal proceedings. He is charged under Article 114 paragraph (2) of Indonesia's Narcotics Law No. 35/2009 and other applicable criminal provisions. (IDNC)
