DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - Deli Serdang Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan has urged all security personnel to ensure that the simultaneous 2026 Village Head Elections (Pilkades) are conducted in a professional, firm, and human-centered manner. He emphasized that authorities must guarantee citizens can exercise their voting rights safely and comfortably.
The directive was delivered by Asri Ludin Tambunan while leading the troop deployment inspection for the security readiness of the 2026 Pilkades under the jurisdiction of the Deli Serdang Metropolitan Police (Polresta Deli Serdang). The event was held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the Deli Serdang Regency Hall grounds.
Security Prepared Across 76 Villages
The simultaneous second-wave Pilkades in 2026 will take place on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, across 76 villages throughout Deli Serdang Regency. The local government is coordinating closely with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) to ensure comprehensive security coverage during the election process.
The Regent stressed that security preparedness is a crucial factor in maintaining a smooth and orderly democratic process at the village level. All deployed personnel are expected to maintain stability and situational control throughout the entire election phase.

Call for Humanistic and Neutral Approach
Accompanied by Deputy Regent Lom Lom Suwondo and Deli Serdang Police Chief Kombes Pol Hendria Lesmana, Asri Ludin Tambunan reminded security forces to apply a humanistic approach in the field.
"Carry out your duties responsibly and professionally. Use a human-centered approach, and ensure that the public can exercise their voting rights safely, comfortably, and without intimidation," he said.
He also underscored the importance of neutrality and restraint among security personnel in responding to any developments on the ground.

Village Democracy as a Unifying Force
Asri Ludin Tambunan described the Pilkades as a genuine form of grassroots democracy that reflects active community participation in choosing their leaders. He urged that differences in political preference be handled with maturity to prevent social tension.
He expressed hope that the 2026 Pilkades would proceed in an orderly, safe, and harmonious manner without disrupting community unity.
"We hope these elections will produce leaders who can work together with the Deli Serdang government to further develop villages and improve public welfare," he said.
