Lom Lom Suwondo Leads 42nd National Children’s Day Ceremony in Deli Serdang

DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - Deputy Regent of Deli Serdang, Lom Lom Suwondo, led the ceremony commemorating the 42nd National Children's Day (Hari Anak Nasional/HAN) 2026 at the Deli Serdang Regency Government level on Thursday, July 23, 2026. The ceremony was held at the courtyard of the Deli Serdang Regent's Office.

The National Children's Day commemoration became an important moment for the Deli Serdang Regency Government to reaffirm its commitment to fulfilling children's rights and strengthening child protection efforts against various forms of violence and discrimination.

National Children's Day Strengthens Commitment to Child Protection

During the ceremony, Lom Lom Suwondo read out the message from the Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA), Arifah Fauzi. The message emphasized that National Children's Day is not merely a ceremonial event, but a reminder for all elements of society to continue creating a safe, comfortable, and child-friendly environment.

"The theme of National Children's Day 2026, 'Love Children, Protect Children, and Build the Future,' reminds us that every child is a valuable individual who has the right to live, grow, develop, participate, and receive protection. Children are also development actors whose voices must be heard according to their age and level of maturity," Lom Lom said while delivering the minister's message.

The message also highlighted that child protection requires the involvement of all parties. Families, educational institutions, communities, the business sector, media, social organizations, religious leaders, academics, as well as central and regional governments all play an important role in building a comprehensive child protection system.

Cross-sector collaboration is the key to ensuring that every child can enjoy their rights, including access to education and healthcare, opportunities for development, and protection from various threats that may affect their future.

National Movement for Safe and Comfortable Spaces for Children

The Deli Serdang Regency Government continues to implement various strategic programs to strengthen child protection. As part of the 2026 National Children's Day commemoration, these efforts were carried out through the National Movement for Safe and Comfortable Spaces for Children (Gerakan Nasional Ruang Aman Nyaman Anak/Gernas RANA) and the BERLIAN campaign (Bersama Lindungi Anak – Protect Children Together).

Both initiatives aim to strengthen the fulfillment of children's rights, encourage the role of families, improve safety in the digital environment, and prevent various forms of violence against children.

Through these programs, the government encourages all elements of society to build collective awareness that protecting children is not solely the responsibility of the government, but a shared commitment that must be continuously maintained.

After delivering the minister's message, Lom Lom Suwondo expressed his appreciation to all participants of the ceremony, especially elementary school students who attended the event with discipline and enthusiasm.

"I would like to express my appreciation to the elementary school students who participated very well in this ceremony from beginning to end. My gratitude also goes to teachers and school principals who continue to guide and educate children with great dedication," Lom Lom stated.

Encouraging Children in Deli Serdang to Become a Quality Generation

Lom Lom expressed his hope that National Children's Day would inspire all children in Deli Serdang Regency to continue developing themselves and grow into a healthy, intelligent, strong-charactered generation with a sense of responsibility toward their environment.

According to him, children are valuable assets for regional and national development. Therefore, the government and society must work together to provide support so children can grow in a positive environment and maximize their potential.

"Happy National Children's Day to all my children in Deli Serdang. May you grow into a strong generation with good character, love Deli Serdang, and lead Indonesia toward a better future," Lom Lom concluded.

The 42nd National Children's Day ceremony was attended by several officials, including Deli Serdang PKK Team Advisory Staff I Asniar Lom Lom Suwondo, Deli Serdang Regional Secretary Dedi Maswardy, administrative assistants, heads of various government agencies, as well as students from elementary to senior high school levels.

The participation of students was part of efforts to instill values of discipline, solidarity, and awareness among the younger generation regarding the important role of children in building the future.

Government and Community Collaboration to Protect Children

The Deli Serdang Regency Government reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening various policies related to child protection. Collaboration between the government, families, schools, and communities is an important step toward creating a region that provides safety and protection for all children.
