DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - Deputy Regent of Deli Serdang, Lom Lom Suwondo, led the ceremony commemorating the 42nd National Children's Day (Hari Anak Nasional/HAN) 2026 at the Deli Serdang Regency Government level on Thursday, July 23, 2026. The ceremony was held at the courtyard of the Deli Serdang Regent's Office.
The National Children's Day commemoration became an important moment for the Deli Serdang Regency Government to reaffirm its commitment to fulfilling children's rights and strengthening child protection efforts against various forms of violence and discrimination."The theme of National Children's Day 2026, 'Love Children, Protect Children, and Build the Future,' reminds us that every child is a valuable individual who has the right to live, grow, develop, participate, and receive protection. Children are also development actors whose voices must be heard according to their age and level of maturity," Lom Lom said while delivering the minister's message.
The message also highlighted that child protection requires the involvement of all parties. Families, educational institutions, communities, the business sector, media, social organizations, religious leaders, academics, as well as central and regional governments all play an important role in building a comprehensive child protection system.Cross-sector collaboration is the key to ensuring that every child can enjoy their rights, including access to education and healthcare, opportunities for development, and protection from various threats that may affect their future.

Both initiatives aim to strengthen the fulfillment of children's rights, encourage the role of families, improve safety in the digital environment, and prevent various forms of violence against children.
Through these programs, the government encourages all elements of society to build collective awareness that protecting children is not solely the responsibility of the government, but a shared commitment that must be continuously maintained.After delivering the minister's message, Lom Lom Suwondo expressed his appreciation to all participants of the ceremony, especially elementary school students who attended the event with discipline and enthusiasm.
"I would like to express my appreciation to the elementary school students who participated very well in this ceremony from beginning to end. My gratitude also goes to teachers and school principals who continue to guide and educate children with great dedication," Lom Lom stated.According to him, children are valuable assets for regional and national development.
