JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM - The Drug Investigation Unit of Polresta Jambi has uncovered an Ecstasy distribution case involving two 18-year-old male suspects. The individuals, identified by their initials EPP (18) and MA (18), were arrested in separate locations. Authorities also seized a total of 12 Ecstasy tablets during the operation.
According to Polresta Jambi spokesperson Commissioner Boy Sutan B. Siregar, through Deputy Spokesperson Iptu Edy Hariyanto, the operation began on Friday, May 3, 2026, after residents reported suspicious drug-related activity at the Trio Futsal parking area in Simpang III Sipin District.
The Narcotics Unit (Satresnarkoba) immediately launched an investigation and conducted surveillance in the area. At around 6:30 p.m. local time, officers arrested EPP. During the search, police found two blue Ecstasy pills with a frog logo hidden inside a yellow Novem cigarette pack.

In his initial statement, EPP admitted ownership of the drugs. He also confessed to purchasing the pills from MA for IDR 440,000 with the intention of reselling them. MA allegedly obtained the Ecstasy from another individual identified as R, who is currently still being investigated by authorities.

Following the lead, officers arrested MA at a residential area in Jalan Lingkar Barat 1, Wijaya Manyang Housing Complex, Block D.01, RT 25, Mayang Mangurai Village, Kota Baru District.
During a search of his room, police discovered 10 additional Ecstasy tablets—consisting of seven blue frog-logo pills and three purple pills bearing a Puma logo—hidden inside a black sling bag.
MA admitted ownership of the drugs and stated that he sourced them from a man named Farel. He also revealed that he distributed the pills via cash-on-delivery (COD), earning a profit of IDR 10,000 per pill.

In addition to the narcotics, police also secured several pieces of evidence, including a yellow Novem cigarette pack, plastic packaging materials, an Infinix Smart 8 smartphone, and an iPhone 13 Pro.
"Both suspects and all evidence have been brought to the Polresta Jambi Narcotics Unit for further investigation. The substances will also be tested in the laboratory," Iptu Edy Hariyanto stated.
The suspects will be charged under Article 114 paragraph (1) of Indonesia's Narcotics Law No. 35 of 2009 and other relevant legal provisions. (IDNC)
