LABUHANBATU SELATAN POLICE LAUNCH OPERATION PATUH TOBA 2026. Labuhanbatu Selatan Police Chief AKBP Rosef Efendi leads the troop deployment ceremony for Operation Patuh Toba 2026 on Monday, 26 October 2026, at the parade ground of the Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency Administration Office. The operation aims to strengthen road discipline and improve traffic safety.

LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM - The Labuhanbatu Selatan Police have launched Operation Patuh Toba 2026, aiming to foster a culture of road safety and compliance among the public and make safety an essential priority on every journey. Police emphasise that reducing the risk of road accidents requires more than the presence of officers on the streets. Awareness and discipline among all road users are equally important.

This message was central to the troop deployment ceremony for Operation Patuh Toba 2026, held on Monday, 26 October 2026, at the parade ground of the Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency Administration Office. The ceremony marked the start of the operation within the jurisdiction of the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police. It was also intended to strengthen cooperation between the police, the regency administration and relevant agencies to promote road safety, maintain order and ensure smooth traffic flow.

Those attending included Labuhanbatu Selatan Police Chief AKBP Rosef Efendi, S.I.K., M.H., CPHR; Deputy Police Chief KOMPOL Moch. Guntur Pryantoko, S.H., M.H.; senior police officers; several police station chiefs; and the commander of Military Police Sub-unit I/1-5 Cikampak, Captain CPM Hasbi. Representatives of the regency administration were also present, including administrative assistants, advisers to the regent, and officials from various agencies and administrative units across Labuhanbatu Selatan.

A key part of the ceremony was the placement of operational armbands, marking the official start of Operation Patuh Toba 2026. The programme continued with an address by the ceremony leader, a report from the formation commander, a salute to the assembled personnel, a prayer and the closing of the ceremony.

Driving Discipline Is Key to Road Safety

Labuhanbatu Selatan Police Chief AKBP Rosef Efendi stressed that Operation Patuh Toba 2026 was not solely intended to penalise traffic offences. As highlighted during the ceremony, the operation is also designed to raise public awareness so that safety becomes a natural priority and an integral part of everyday driving habits.

Following traffic rules is about more than avoiding penalties. Every road user must understand that disciplined behaviour on the road is a responsibility that protects themselves, their families and others.

The public is therefore urged to check the necessary vehicle documents before travelling, use appropriate safety equipment, obey road signs and comply with the regulations in force. Both motorcyclists and car drivers should follow these practices on every journey, whether travelling on urban roads or routes connecting different areas.

"Road safety must become a necessity and part of our everyday culture, rather than something that matters only when police officers are present on the road. Through discipline and mutual consideration, we can reduce the risk of accidents and protect the safety of all road users," was the message emphasised during the operation.

This message highlights the importance of building a safety culture that does not depend on enforcement by the authorities. Compliance that occurs only when drivers see police officers or expect to encounter a checkpoint is not enough to create safer road conditions in the long term.

The public must recognise that every traffic regulation is intended to reduce accident risks and protect everyone using the roads. Simple habits, such as wearing a compliant safety helmet, fastening a seat belt, observing appropriate speed limits and obeying road signs, are important elements of these efforts.

Police Emphasise Education and a Community-Focused Approach

Alongside his call for greater discipline, AKBP Rosef Efendi instructed all personnel involved in Operation Patuh Toba 2026 to carry out their duties professionally, responsibly and with a strong focus on serving the public.

This directive highlights the importance of public education during the operation. Officers are expected to explain the risks associated with traffic violations and the importance of safe driving. At the same time, they must take appropriate action against offences in accordance with the applicable regulations.

A community-focused approach also plays an important role in building public trust in the police. Officers on the roads should be recognised not only for conducting checks and imposing penalties, but also for providing services, protection and guidance to road users.

Through this approach, the police can help the public better understand the reasons behind traffic regulations. Professional and proportionate enforcement should reinforce the understanding that maintaining order on the roads is not solely the responsibility of the authorities, but a shared obligation.

The operation also gives officers an opportunity to remind drivers of the importance of preparing carefully before setting off. Checking vehicle equipment, observing road signs and using appropriate safety equipment should become regular habits, rather than measures taken only when a traffic check is expected.

Cooperation to Create Safer Roads

Through Operation Patuh Toba 2026, the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police aim to strengthen cooperation with the regency administration and relevant agencies. Coordination between institutions is essential to promoting safe, orderly and smooth traffic conditions throughout Labuhanbatu Selatan.

However, the success of these efforts also depends on active public participation. Motorcyclists, car drivers and all other road users share responsibility for maintaining safety and respecting the rights of others.

Everyone can contribute by obeying traffic rules, avoiding dangerous driving and prioritising safety even when traffic is heavy. This awareness is crucial to preventing accidents that can cause property damage or claim lives.

The launch of Operation Patuh Toba 2026 provides an opportunity for the people of Labuhanbatu Selatan to strengthen road discipline and make compliance with traffic regulations a lasting part of everyday life. The police, regency administration and public must each fulfil their responsibilities consistently to ensure that efforts to improve road safety continue beyond the end of the operation.

Ultimately, the success of the operation cannot be measured solely by the number of traffic offences penalised. Changes in driving behaviour, a greater willingness to comply with traffic regulations and stronger consideration for the safety of other road users are also essential indicators of safer and more responsible road use.
