Saiman; members of the Regional House of Representatives from the Golkar Party faction; Regional Secretary M. Reza Pahlevi Nasution; religious leaders; invited guests; and the orphaned children.
H. M. Romadon Nasution, Chair of the Golkar Party Regional Leadership Council in Labuhanbatu Selatan, stressed that the party's anniversary should deliver tangible benefits to the public. He said the occasion should extend beyond ceremonial activities and provide an opportunity to strengthen solidarity and support residents in need.
He explained that assistance for orphaned children and the distribution of essential food packages formed part of the Golkar Party's anniversary programme, which was being held in various parts of Indonesia.Through these social initiatives, Golkar aims to share happiness and strengthen its relationship with the community. According to Romadon, the activities reflect the importance of making concern for vulnerable groups an integral part of the organisation's social responsibility.
The anniversary ceremony's main highlight was the cutting of a traditional rice cone, symbolising gratitude. The organising committee subsequently distributed financial assistance to around 100 orphaned children. Regent Fery Sahputra Simatupang also provided assistance separately. The initiative demonstrated that political parties have a role beyond organisational consolidation, election campaigning and the pursuit of public support. They can also help build social solidarity and strengthen their relationship with residents through direct action.
For the community, initiatives of this kind are meaningful when expressions of concern translate into practical assistance that recipients can genuinely benefit from. Support for orphaned children also serves as a reminder that regional development must take account of people who need additional help.Romadon reaffirmed the commitment of the Golkar Party faction in the Labuhanbatu Selatan Regional House of Representatives to supporting and overseeing the flagship programmes of the Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency Government.
He said the commitment had been discussed at a faction meeting. In his view, political support must go hand in hand with oversight to ensure that government programmes reach their intended beneficiaries and deliver meaningful results for residents.Romadon also referred to the Jelajah Desa programme, which has attracted considerable discussion on social media. The initiative has become a point of interest and motivation for Golkar officials in Labuhanbatu Selatan as they seek to organise activities that respond more closely to the community's needs.
Although the party supports local government programmes, Romadon emphasised the importance of maintaining the Regional House of Representatives' oversight function. Support and scrutiny must remain balanced as part of the legislature's responsibility to ensure that government initiatives are implemented in line with their objectives. In addition to the social activities and the Umrah award, Romadon provided an update on the formation of the Labuhanbatu Selatan Golkar Party Regional Leadership Council. He said the organisational structure was still being finalised and had not yet been fully established.
Romadon expressed hope that the process would be completed within approximately the next ten days. Once finalised, the proposed leadership structure would be submitted to the Chair of the Golkar Party Regional Leadership Council of North Sumatra for approval.
In his address, Labuhanbatu Selatan Regent Fery Sahputra Simatupang congratulated the Golkar Party on its 62nd anniversary. He expressed hope that the party would continue to grow stronger and contribute to national development, particularly in Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency.
Fery said the communal prayer and thanksgiving gathering represented more than an anniversary celebration. It also provided an opportunity to strengthen personal relationships, promote unity and seek blessings for a safer, more peaceful and more prosperous Labuhanbatu Selatan. He emphasised that regional development required the involvement of all sections of society. Local government, political parties, community leaders and various social groups needed to work together to ensure that development programmes reflected residents' needs.
Political differences, he added, should not stand in the way of collective efforts to advance the public interest. Fery urged all parties to prioritise the needs of the people in every development initiative."Let us work together to develop Labuhanbatu Selatan in a spirit of unity, put our differences aside and prioritise the interests of the community," Fery said.
His appeal underscored the importance of cooperation between local government, political parties and the public. Collaboration among these groups is an important factor in maintaining regional stability and promoting sustainable development.
The presentation of an Umrah pilgrimage trip to Muhammad Efendi was one of the most memorable moments of the Golkar Party's 62nd anniversary celebrations in Labuhanbatu Selatan. Efendi, who serves as Chair of the party's Kampung Rakyat District Leadership Committee, received the award through a lucky draw.
Romadon explained that the gift fulfilled a commitment he had previously discussed with fellow members of the Golkar Party faction in connection with their support for Fery Sahputra Simatupang during his candidacy for Regent of Labuhanbatu Selatan.According to Romadon, fellow faction members also contributed towards financing the pilgrimage. The award was intended to recognise a party member who had remained committed to the organisation over many years.
For Efendi, the opportunity brought particular happiness after 17 years with the Golkar Party. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the party's leadership in Labuhanbatu Selatan."Alhamdulillah, I would like to thank the entire leadership of the Golkar Party in Labuhanbatu Selatan. I have been part of Golkar for 17 years. God willing, I will depart for Umrah this December," Efendi said.
The pilgrimage, scheduled for December 2026, is expected to be a spiritually meaningful journey for Efendi and his family. At the same time, the occasion added a personal dimension to the party's anniversary celebrations by recognising the dedication of a member who has served the organisation for nearly two decades.Completing the organisational structure remains an important step in strengthening internal consolidation, improving coordination down to district level and preparing the party to implement its programmes. A cohesive organisation is expected to support social initiatives while strengthening its political role in advancing the public interest.
The event concluded with a prayer led by Ustaz Sabaruddin Harahap. The Golkar Party's 62nd anniversary in Labuhanbatu Selatan provided an opportunity to reinforce social solidarity, promote unity and reaffirm the party's commitment to regional development. Assistance for around 100 orphaned children demonstrated concern for vulnerable members of the community, while the Umrah award for Muhammad Efendi highlighted recognition of a long-serving party member.
Ultimately, the role of a political organisation is measured not only by the strength of its structure and internal consolidation but also by its ability to maintain close ties with the public, fulfil its social responsibilities and champion the interests of the people.
