PANCASILA SANCTITY DAY COMMEMORATION: Labuhanbatu Selatan Police Chief AKBP Rosef Efendi, S.I.K., M.H., CPHR., leads the Pancasila Sanctity Day commemoration ceremony at the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police Headquarters on Thursday, October 1, 2026. The event aims to strengthen the implementation of Pancasila values in police service.

LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM - Labuhanbatu Selatan Police Chief AKBP Rosef Efendi, S.I.K., M.H., CPHR., has called on all police personnel to make the values of Pancasila the foundation of their duties and interactions with the public. He delivered the message while leading the commemoration ceremony for Pancasila Sanctity Day at the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police Headquarters (Mapolres), located on the Trans-Sumatra Highway in Sosopan Village, Kotapinang District, on Thursday, October 1, 2026.

The ceremony took place in a solemn and dignified atmosphere. It was attended by senior police officials (PJU), police officers, civil servants (ASN), and all personnel of the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police. The commemoration provided an opportunity for all police personnel to reaffirm their shared commitment to putting the values of Pancasila into practice in both their daily lives and the performance of their official duties.

For the Indonesian National Police (Polri), Pancasila Sanctity Day is not merely an occasion to commemorate the history of the nation's struggle for independence. October 1 also serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving national unity, strengthening integrity, and providing public services that consistently prioritize the interests of the community.

Pancasila as a Guiding Principle for Police Service

In his address, AKBP Rosef Efendi emphasized that Pancasila Sanctity Day should not be regarded merely as an annual ceremonial event. Instead, all police personnel should use the occasion to reflect on their responsibility to uphold and implement Pancasila as the foundation of the Indonesian state.

According to him, the values of Pancasila must be reflected in every action taken by Polri personnel, particularly in delivering public services, protecting the community, and providing assistance to the public. Therefore, the implementation of Pancasila should not be limited to formal ceremonies but must be demonstrated through the attitudes and conduct of police officers in their direct interactions with the community.

"Pancasila is the foundation of our state and serves as our guiding principle in social, national, and state life. As members of the Indonesian National Police, we must be able to put the values of Pancasila into practice in every aspect of our duties, particularly in providing services, protection, and assistance to the community," AKBP Rosef stated.

His remarks highlight that police responsibilities extend beyond law enforcement. Every member of Polri also has a responsibility to build good relationships with the public through fair services, mutual respect, and a consistent commitment to the common good.

For example, the values of humanity and justice must always be considered when addressing various social issues. Likewise, the principle of unity requires all police personnel to preserve social cohesion and ensure that no one faces discrimination when accessing police services.

Police Chief Emphasizes Solidarity and Professionalism

In addition to urging personnel to implement Pancasila values in their daily activities, the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police Chief called on all members of his force to maintain solidarity within the institution and continuously improve their professionalism in response to the increasingly complex demands of police work.

AKBP Rosef Efendi emphasized that carrying out police duties requires qualified personnel with integrity, discipline, and loyalty. These three qualities are essential foundations for developing responsible police officers who can perform their duties in accordance with applicable regulations.

He also reminded personnel that the presence of the police in society must provide people with a sense of security. Achieving this objective requires every police officer to exercise their authority professionally and consistently.

AKBP Rosef also highlighted the importance of adopting a humane and community-oriented approach in all police operations. In his view, officers must be capable of establishing effective communication with the public while maintaining the firmness and professionalism required in enforcing the law.

Such a community-oriented approach is an important part of building harmonious relationships between the police and the public. Through open communication, responsive services, and respect for people's rights, police personnel are expected to further strengthen public trust in the Polri institution.

On the occasion, AKBP Rosef once again encouraged his personnel to use Pancasila Sanctity Day as an opportunity to improve the quality of their services.

"Let us use Pancasila Sanctity Day as an opportunity to strengthen our national unity and solidarity, reinforce our commitment to service, and provide the best possible services to the community. Let us maintain public trust by working professionally, transparently, and humanely," he urged.

Concrete Action as an Expression of Pancasila Values

The messages delivered by AKBP Rosef Efendi are directly related to the responsibilities of every police officer. The values of unity, humanity, justice, and accountability must be reflected in daily police duties and must not remain merely part of speeches delivered during formal ceremonies.

In public service, Pancasila values can be implemented through concrete actions. Police officers who provide prompt services, demonstrate a friendly attitude, respect the rights of the public, and enforce the law professionally contribute to putting the fundamental principles of the Indonesian state into practice.

The Labuhanbatu Selatan Police also used the occasion to emphasize that public trust cannot be established through statements or appeals alone. Instead, trust grows through the consistent performance of official duties, the maintenance of discipline, and accountability in every form of public service.

For this reason, all police personnel must continuously develop their individual capabilities and professional competencies to respond appropriately to changes in security conditions and public order. Every officer should also be able to consider the interests of the community as an essential part of their daily responsibilities.

Furthermore, transparency and humane treatment must go hand in hand with the necessary firmness in law enforcement. This balance is an important element in ensuring integrity in police services and further strengthening relations between the Polri and the public.

The Pancasila Sanctity Day commemoration ceremony at the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police Headquarters concluded with a joint prayer. The entire event proceeded in an orderly and dignified manner until its conclusion.

Through the commemoration, AKBP Rosef Efendi once again reminded personnel that Pancasila must remain alive in the daily actions of every member of the Polri. The spirit of unity, humanity, and justice must be realized through consistent commitment and action. Serving the public is one of the most tangible ways to put Pancasila values into practice.

Thus, the October 1, 2026, commemoration of Pancasila Sanctity Day was not merely an annual observance but also an opportunity to further strengthen the commitment of the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police to professional, transparent, disciplined, and humane policing. (IDNC)
