BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM - Aceh Provincial Secretary, M. Nasir, officially opened the 2026 Technical Training on the Assessment of Maladministration in Public Service Delivery on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. The event was organized by the Aceh Representative Office of the Indonesian Ombudsman (Ombudsman RI) at the Multipurpose Building of the Aceh Governor's Office.
The activity is part of efforts to strengthen government officials' understanding of the importance of supervision and improving the quality of public services in Aceh. Through this technical training, regional governments and public service providers are expected to conduct continuous evaluations and improvements so that the community can receive increasingly better services.In his speech, Nasir appreciated the initiative of the Indonesian Ombudsman Representative Office in Aceh for holding the event. He stated that public services are not only a fundamental need but also a government obligation to the people.
According to him, the government is responsible for providing high-quality, fair, transparent, and community-oriented services. Public services, he said, are among the key indicators in measuring the success of government administration.He explained that government officials must place citizens at the center of public services, rather than viewing them merely as objects of administrative processes. This shift in mindset is an important element in creating public services that are more responsive to society's needs.
Nasir reminded that within the government system, the people are the true holders of the mandate. Therefore, the primary responsibility of the government is to serve the community by providing the best possible services."The concept of New Public Service teaches us that the state exists to serve the people. The community is the holder of the mandate, therefore we must continue to follow every change in public administration so that services become increasingly responsive to society's needs," he said.
He expressed hope that all government officials would continue developing their capabilities to provide innovative services that meet the changing expectations of the public.
Meanwhile, Head of the Indonesian Ombudsman Representative Office in Aceh, Dian Rubianti, presented the results of the Ombudsman's public service assessment in Aceh.
Dian praised the Aceh Government, particularly the Organizational Bureau as well as district and municipal governments, for their achievements in the 2024 public service assessment. She stated that an increasing number of regions in Aceh had succeeded in reaching the green zone, which represents the highest assessment category.According to her, this achievement serves as an important foundation for further improving the quality of public services and supporting the realization of a dignified and respected Aceh.
Dian stressed that the Ombudsman's assessment results are not merely numbers, but serve as a starting point for all public service providers to implement continuous improvements.She explained that the assessments conducted by the Ombudsman aim to encourage every public institution to strengthen its systems, improve compliance with service standards, and prevent cases of maladministration.

Through this activity, government officials gained a better understanding of public service assessment mechanisms and the necessary steps to enhance service performance.
The Aceh Government considers cooperation with the Indonesian Ombudsman Representative Office in Aceh as strategically important in achieving good governance. Improving public services is also viewed as a crucial step toward strengthening public trust in the government.The event was also attended by Assistant for General Administration of the Aceh Provincial Secretariat Dr. A. Murtala, M.Si., Head of the Aceh Regional Office of the National Land Agency Dr. Ir. Arinaldi, S.SiT., S.H., M.M., Head of the Aceh Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration Tato Juliadin Hidayawan, S.H., M.M., as well as several bureau chiefs within the Aceh Provincial Secretariat.
