BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM - Aceh Deputy Governor Fadhlullah participated via video conference in a national coordination meeting on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from the Aceh Governor's Office in Banda Aceh to accelerate the construction of permanent housing (Hunian Tetap/Huntap) for communities affected by floods and landslides.

The coordination meeting reviewed the latest progress of post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction programs, with a particular focus on the development of permanent housing for disaster survivors in several regions across Sumatra. The Central Government and regional administrations coordinated efforts to speed up the construction of safe and adequate housing for residents who lost their homes due to natural disasters.

Fadhlullah attended the meeting alongside several heads of Aceh Provincial Government agencies (SKPA). The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) Task Force and Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian.

Governors, regents, and mayors from disaster-affected regions across Sumatra also participated. The forum served as an evaluation platform to assess the progress of permanent housing construction and discuss challenges encountered during the rehabilitation process.

Government Accelerates Permanent Housing Construction

During the meeting, several ministers and representatives of government institutions presented updates on post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction programs. Discussions centered on the progress of permanent housing projects, implementation challenges in the field, and the support required from regional governments to expedite construction.

Minister of Housing and Settlement Development (PKP) Maruarar Sirait presented a report on the implementation of the permanent housing program in several disaster-affected regions. The report covered construction progress, targeted completion schedules, and the number of housing units planned in each location.

The government also addressed a number of key challenges that could affect project implementation, including the availability of suitable land and the provision of supporting infrastructure. Both factors are considered essential to ensuring that new housing developments are completed on schedule.

The provision of permanent housing remains one of the government's priority programs to support the recovery of disaster-affected communities. The initiative aims to provide safe, secure, and livable homes for families displaced by floods and landslides.

Interagency Collaboration Strengthens Disaster Recovery

The national coordination meeting brought together representatives from various ministries and government agencies involved in disaster management and post-disaster recovery. Participants included the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Public Works, representatives of the state electricity company PLN, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), and senior officials from several other ministries and institutions.

Cross-sector collaboration remains a key component of the government's strategy to accelerate permanent housing construction. Each institution plays a specific role, ranging from providing basic infrastructure to ensuring essential public services are available in newly developed residential areas.

Coordination between the Central Government and regional administrations continues to be strengthened to resolve implementation challenges promptly. The government expects every phase of construction to proceed efficiently and deliver tangible benefits to affected communities.

The meeting also aimed to ensure that programs implemented by ministries, state institutions, and regional governments remain closely synchronized. Such synergy is considered essential to achieving rehabilitation and reconstruction targets following natural disasters.

Aceh Supports Faster Recovery for Disaster-Affected Communities

Aceh Deputy Governor Fadhlullah's participation in the national coordination meeting reflects the Aceh Provincial Government's commitment to supporting rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in disaster-affected regions. The provincial government continues to work closely with the Central Government to ensure the successful implementation of the permanent housing program.

The national coordination meeting serves as a strategic platform for aligning policies and actions between the Central Government and regional administrations to accelerate the construction of permanent housing for communities affected by floods and landslides. Continuous coordination is expected to ensure that rehabilitation and reconstruction programs are carried out effectively and efficiently.

Both the Central Government and regional administrations will continue monitoring the progress of the Huntap housing program to ensure that every stage of construction meets the needs of affected residents. The permanent housing initiative remains one of the government's key priorities in post-disaster recovery efforts across several regions of Sumatra.

Through close collaboration among all relevant institutions, the government hopes that disaster-affected families will soon be able to move into safe, comfortable, and sustainable homes, enabling them to rebuild their lives. (IDNC)
