BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM - Aceh Deputy Governor Fadhlullah participated in a public hearing (Rapat Dengar Pendapat Umum/RDPU) held by Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) with regional governments from across Indonesia on Thursday, July 30, 2026. Discussion on Remuneration and Central-Regional Fiscal Relations

During the public hearing, Commission II of the DPR RI addressed several important matters, including the remuneration system for governors, deputy governors, regents, and mayors.

The discussion on remuneration received significant attention as it is closely related to social protection and the working conditions of regional leaders in carrying out their governmental responsibilities. Regional governments hope that future regulations will uphold the principle of fairness while reflecting the significant responsibilities attached to these positions.

The meeting also discussed the revenue-sharing system between the central government and regional administrations. Revenue-sharing regulations are an important component of central-regional fiscal relations because they directly affect the ability of local governments to implement development programs.

Through this joint dialogue, central and regional governments were able to submit various proposals to improve regional financial management, making it more effective and capable of supporting sustainable development.

Strengthening Regional Own-Source Revenue as a Priority

Commission II of the DPR RI also highlighted various efforts to increase regional own-source revenue (Pendapatan Asli Daerah/PAD). Increasing PAD is considered a key step toward strengthening regional financial independence and reducing reliance on funding from the central government.

Each region has different economic potentials and requires policies that encourage the optimal use of legal and sustainable revenue sources. Regional governments continue to explore various opportunities to increase local income.

Strengthening PAD is also an important part of efforts to enhance the capacity of regional governments in financing development programs and improving public services for communities.

The discussions are expected to strengthen regional governance, improve the welfare of regional leaders based on the principle of fairness, and enhance regional fiscal capacity through the optimization of locally generated revenues.
