NEW CHAIRMAN INSTALLED: Fery Sahputra Simatupang is officially inaugurated as Chairman of Toga Simatupang in South Labuhanbatu during a traditional ceremony at the Regent’s official residence on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM ~ Fery Sahputra Simatupang has officially been installed as the Chairman of Toga Simatupang Boru, Bere, and Ibebere in South Labuhanbatu Regency. The ceremonial inauguration was held at the official residence of the Regent of South Labuhanbatu in a dignified and traditional atmosphere.

The adat-based installation ceremony was led by the traditional elders (Hatobangon) of Toga Simatupang, including Bisler Toga Torop, Opung Nico Sianturi, and Opung Brian Siburian. Representatives from the Boru, Bere, and Ibebere family groups also attended the event, accompanying the solemn proceedings.

In his address, Fery Sahputra Simatupang emphasized that his new mandate carries significant responsibility, particularly in preserving unity and strengthening cultural values within the community.

"This responsibility is not merely a position, but a trust that allows us to preserve dignity, strengthen brotherhood, and bring benefits to the entire Simatupang family," he said.

Fery further underlined his commitment to strengthening the marga-based organization so it can play a more active role in regional development while ensuring younger generations remain connected to cultural heritage.

"I want the Toga Simatupang not only to be culturally strong but also to make real contributions to regional development," he stated.

He also highlighted that solidarity is essential amid ongoing social changes, noting that cultural bonds remain a strong foundation in Batak society.
