ARREST OF SUSPECTED DRUG DEALERS: Officers from Polsek Torgamba arrest two suspected drug trafficking offenders and secure evidence during a raid at Gang Seroja, Dusun Aek Batu, Asam Jawa Village, Torgamba District, South Labuhanbatu Regency.

LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM - Investigators from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Torgamba Police Sector (Polsek Torgamba) have once again demonstrated their commitment to combating drug trafficking within their jurisdiction. Following information received from local residents, police officers conducted a raid at a location suspected of being frequently used as a drug transaction and distribution point.

The operation was carried out at Gang Seroja, Dusun Aek Batu, Asam Jawa Village, Torgamba District, South Labuhanbatu Regency (Kabupaten Labuhanbatu Selatan).

The raid, conducted in the early hours of Thursday, July 16, 2026, resulted in the arrest of two men and the seizure of several pieces of evidence allegedly linked to criminal activity involving the possession and distribution of methamphetamine.

The case highlights the important role of cooperation between the community and law enforcement agencies in limiting the activities of drug networks that pose a threat to public safety.

Community Tip Leads Police to Suspected Drug Location

Torgamba Police Chief AKP Sunipan Gurusinga, S.H., M.H., stated that the raid was initiated following reports from residents regarding suspected drug-related activities in the Gang Seroja area, Dusun Aek Batu, Asam Jawa Village, Torgamba District.

The information was subsequently verified through an investigation conducted by Polsek Torgamba personnel. The police chief instructed Criminal Investigation Unit Head IPTU Rajo Irawan Hamonangan, S.H., M.H., along with the operational investigation team of Polsek Torgamba, to monitor the reported location.

The team arrived at the site on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at approximately 2:05 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB). Upon arrival, officers conducted surveillance to confirm the information they had received.

During the monitoring process, police officers spotted two men sitting on the terrace of a house that was reportedly known as a frequent gathering place for young people. Officers immediately moved to intervene to prevent the possible removal or destruction of evidence.

Two Suspects Arrested With Alleged Crystal Meth

During the operation, police arrested two men identified by the initials Andi Nova (31) and Susanto (26).

According to police records, Andi Nova is a repeat offender and resides on Jalan Poros Rokan Baru, Pekaitan District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province. Meanwhile, Susanto is a resident of Dusun Aek Batu, Asam Jawa Village, Torgamba District, South Labuhanbatu Regency.

During the search, officers discovered a transparent white plastic container containing five small clip bags. The bags contained crystalline substances suspected to be methamphetamine, with a total gross weight of 0.85 grams.

In addition to the suspected narcotics, police also secured several other items believed to be related to drug trafficking activities. The seized items included a black Infinix mobile phone, cash amounting to Rp560,000, and a black sling bag.

Following their arrest, both suspects, along with all confiscated evidence, were taken to the Torgamba Police Sector headquarters for further questioning and legal proceedings.

Police Urge Public to Continue Cooperation

AKP Sunipan Gurusinga emphasized that Polsek Torgamba will continue strengthening preventive measures and law enforcement efforts against drug abuse and trafficking within its jurisdiction.

He explained that public support remains a key factor in uncovering various drug-related cases within the community.

"We appreciate the active role of residents who have provided information to the police. We encourage all members of society not to hesitate to report suspicious activities related to drug trafficking in their surroundings. The identity of informants will be protected," said AKP Sunipan Gurusinga.

The Torgamba Police Chief added that his officers would continue conducting patrols and investigations to curb the spread of narcotics, which could endanger the future of the younger generation.

The disclosure of this case is part of the ongoing efforts by the South Labuhanbatu Police (Polres Labusel) to maintain a safe and orderly public environment. Investigators are continuing the examination of the two suspects to uncover the possibility of a larger drug trafficking network. (IDNC)
