JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM - The Telanaipura Police Sector (Polsek Telanaipura), under the authority of the Jambi City Police Department (Polresta Jambi), successfully solved four separate criminal cases throughout July 2026. The cases involved one assault incident, two cases of aggravated theft, and one case of illegal possession of a sharp weapon.
The Telanaipura Police arrested all suspects involved in the four cases. The suspects are currently undergoing legal proceedings in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.The case resolutions were announced through an official statement issued by Polsek Telanaipura on Thursday, July 30, 2026. According to police, the achievements were the result of intensive investigations and a swift response to reports submitted by members of the public.
The first case solved by Polsek Telanaipura involved an assault that occurred on July 22, 2026, at around 6:30 a.m. in the Angso Duo Market area, Legok, Danau Sipin District.
The victim, identified as Rokimi, 37, suffered a stab wound to the left side of his back. Due to the injuries sustained, the victim was required to receive medical treatment at a hospital.Investigators later arrested a suspect identified by the initials SP, 53. Police also confiscated a knife measuring approximately 20 centimeters in length, which was allegedly used during the incident.
The suspect was charged under Article 466 of the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP). If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
In addition to resolving the assault case, Polsek Telanaipura also uncovered two cases of aggravated theft (Curat). The first incident occurred on July 1, 2026, on Jalan Mayjen H.J. Singadekane, Telanaipura District, involving a bank customer.
In the incident, the victim lost a bag containing Rp3 million in cash. The perpetrator allegedly smashed the vehicle window while the car was parked in front of a restaurant.With assistance from local residents, the suspect identified by the initials MK, 45, was arrested at the scene and later handed over to the police.
Officers secured several pieces of evidence, including cash, a mobile phone, and broken vehicle glass fragments. The suspect was charged under Article 477 of the KUHP and faces a maximum sentence of seven years in prison.Another aggravated theft case occurred on Jalan MPU Gandring, Solok Sipin District. Two children lost their mobile phones while playing on June 28, 2026.
Following an investigation, the Telanaipura Police team arrested a suspect identified by the initials RA, 22. Police secured several items of evidence, including mobile phones, phone packaging, a USB flash drive, and a motorcycle allegedly used in the crime.RA was also charged under Article 477 of the KUHP and faces a maximum sentence of seven years in prison.
Polsek Telanaipura also solved a case involving illegal possession of a sharp weapon near the Aur Duri I Bridge in Teluk Kenali.
The case began after police received information from residents regarding a man who allegedly demanded money from drivers of stalled vehicles. Following the report, officers from Polsek Telanaipura conducted an inspection of the individual.During the examination, police found a 19-centimeter knife hidden inside the jacket of a suspect identified by the initials AF, 46.
Officers arrested AF along with the seized evidence to proceed with further legal action. The suspect was charged under Article 307 of the KUHP and faces a maximum sentence of seven years in prison.Telanaipura Police Chief AKP Amran stated that his unit would continue strengthening patrol activities, investigative efforts, and the rapid handling of public reports.
