BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM – Aceh Provincial Secretary, M. Nasir, has called on the Indonesian Community Sports Committee (KORMI) of Aceh to further strengthen the culture of community sports across the province in an effort to create a healthier, more active, and productive society.
The statement was delivered during the 2026 Provincial Working Meeting (Rakerprov) of KORMI Aceh held at Ayani Hotel, Banda Aceh, on Sunday (May 17, 2026).The event was officially opened by National KORMI Chairman Adil Hakim and attended by KORMI Aceh officials, representatives from district and municipal KORMI chapters, as well as various sports organizations (INORGA) from across Aceh.

In his remarks, M. Nasir, who also serves as Chairman of KORMI Aceh, expressed appreciation for the continued dedication of KORMI and INORGA members in developing a sustainable sports culture within the community.
Read Also:According to him, the Rakerprov serves as an important momentum to strengthen organizational consolidation while formulating adaptive work programs that align with the current needs of society.
"KORMI plays a strategic role in implementing Presidential Regulation Number 86 of 2021 concerning the National Sports Grand Design, which envisions a 'Fit Indonesia' by 2045," said Nasir.
He emphasized that the community sports movement must continue to be strengthened to increase public participation in sports activities sustainably.

Nasir also warned that modern lifestyles are making people increasingly vulnerable to sedentary habits or physically inactive routines.Referring to data from Indonesia's 2023 National Health Survey (Riskesdas), he stated that only around 32.8 percent of Indonesians engage in regular daily exercise. Meanwhile, a large portion of society still lives an inactive lifestyle that increases the risk of degenerative diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and obesity.

Simple activities such as walking, cycling, group aerobics, and traditional sports can provide significant health benefits when carried out regularly and consistently, he added.
Aceh Ranks Second Nationally in Sports DevelopmentAt the end of his speech, M. Nasir revealed that Aceh currently ranks second nationally in the 2024 National Sports Development Index with a score of 0.464.
