HAJJ PREPARATION: A total of 148 prospective pilgrims from Labuhanbatu Selatan take part in the manasik training and tepung tawar blessing ceremony at the Regent’s residence pavilion, Sunday, April 26, 2026.

LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATENEWS.COM ~ A total of 148 prospective Hajj pilgrims from Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency participated in a comprehensive manasik (Hajj ritual training) program, combined with the traditional tepung tawar blessing ceremony on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

The event took place at the pavilion of the Regent's official residence and was attended by Labuhanbatu Selatan Regent Fery Sahputra Simatupang, Deputy Regent Syahdian Purba Siboro, members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), community leaders, and representatives from the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police, led by Deputy Police Chief Moch Guntur Pryantoko on behalf of Police Chief Aditya S.P. Sembiring.

The event was carefully organized, beginning with an opening session, Quran recitation, committee report, and official remarks. It continued with the tepung tawar ritual, a symbolic cultural tradition offering prayers and blessings for the pilgrims.

In his speech, Regent Fery Sahputra Simatupang emphasized the significance of the Hajj pilgrimage.

"This tradition reflects our collective prayers. May all pilgrims be granted health, safety, and a smooth journey in performing their عبادah in Mecca," he said.

As a symbolic gesture of readiness, the committee also placed ceremonial scarves on the pilgrims.

Strengthening Spiritual Readiness

A representative of the pilgrims expressed gratitude for the opportunity to perform Hajj, while families accompanied them, offering prayers for a safe and successful journey.

Security Measures and Departure Plan

Deputy Police Chief Moch Guntur Pryantoko stated that comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place to ensure a safe departure process.

"These security measures are not just a duty, but a reflection of our commitment and care. We want to ensure that the guests of Allah begin their journey safely and comfortably," he said.

The 148 pilgrims, consisting of 68 men and 80 women, are scheduled to depart on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 9:00 PM WIB. The committee has prepared five main buses, one backup bus, escort vehicles, and an ambulance. (IDNC)
