BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM - The Aceh Provincial Government has expressed profound sorrow following the passing of Dr. Zaini Abdullah, former Governor of Aceh (2012–2017), widely known as "Abu Doto." The former politician and medical doctor died on Saturday, June 13, 2026. He leaves behind a significant legacy in public health and the region's post-conflict development.
Secretary of Aceh Province, M. Nasir, described his passing as a major loss for the region. He emphasized that Zaini Abdullah was not only a political leader but also a key figure in Aceh's transformation during the post-conflict era.
"The Government of Aceh extends its deepest condolences. May Allah SWT forgive his sins, widen his grave, and grant him the highest place in His presence. We also pray for strength and patience for the bereaved family," Nasir said.
Throughout his tenure, he contributed to strengthening Aceh's stability in the post-conflict period. His leadership is credited with supporting peace consolidation and reinforcing development across key sectors.

The provincial government paid tribute to his dedication, noting that his leadership left a lasting imprint on governance and public service delivery in Aceh.
