LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM - Leadership regeneration within youth organizations took center stage during the joint Temu Karya Bersama of Karang Taruna across three subdistricts in Labuhanbatu Selatan, Kotapinang, Kampung Rakyat, and Torgamba. The event was held on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Kotapinang District Office Hall, marking a strategic transition for the future direction of local youth engagement.
Representatives from district and village-level Karang Taruna structures attended the gathering and actively participated in organizational deliberations. With the completion of the previous leadership term, the forum opened the path toward a new, more dynamic, and performance-driven leadership structure.
According to him, the leadership tenure in the three subdistricts had officially ended, making immediate elections necessary. The process is aimed at producing young leaders who are not only committed but also capable in organizational management.
"This Temu Karya is held because the previous leadership term has ended. We expect a new leadership that can continue ongoing programs and further develop Karang Taruna," Andi Syahputra Nasution stated.
He further stressed that internal democratic processes must remain open and consensus-based to strengthen Karang Taruna as a learning platform for emerging youth leaders.

Karang Taruna, he noted, should not be limited to formal organizational activities but must also serve as a catalyst for social and economic development.
"The future leadership must engage all young people and strengthen collaboration between district and village structures," he said.
He also called on village units to prepare for upcoming regional events, particularly the anniversary celebrations of Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency.
Participants also discussed strategies to enhance organizational development, ensuring greater adaptability and long-term sustainability. Through a democratic leadership transition, Karang Taruna is expected to become more responsive to the needs of younger generations while contributing to rural economic growth.
With unity and commitment, the organization aims to remain a key partner of local government and a driving force for social change. (IDNC)
