The initiative is aimed at accelerating digital transformation and bridging connectivity gaps, particularly in remote and underserved "blank spot" areas.
EVP Head of Circle Sumatra at Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Agus Sulistio, said the company fully welcomes the governor's vision of equal digital access throughout the region. He emphasized that Indosat's commitment goes beyond infrastructure development, focusing equally on improving network quality and user experience.
Currently, Indosat's network coverage reaches approximately 93 percent of North Sumatra's population, providing a strong foundation for further expansion into areas with limited connectivity.

Governor Bobby Nasution has urged telecommunications providers to work together in resolving connectivity gaps across North Sumatra, with special attention given to the Nias Islands as a priority region.
"We invite all telecommunications operators to collaborate in closing digital gaps, starting from the Nias Islands," Bobby said during a meeting at the Governor's Office in Medan on June 4, 2026.
