BATAM | INDATANEWS.COM – A joint team from the Jatanras Unit of Polresta Barelang and investigators from the Sungai Beduk Police Station has successfully solved a violent robbery case (curas) in Sungai Beduk, Batam. A suspect was arrested without resistance, with several pieces of evidence secured during the operation.
The swift resolution underscores the police's continued commitment to maintaining public order and tackling street crime, which remains a concern among residents. Within days of the report being filed, investigators successfully identified and apprehended the suspect.
He was carrying a white bag containing valuables, including a Vivo Y28 smartphone, an iPhone 7 Plus (32GB), and several important documents. The relatively quiet street environment is believed to have been exploited by the perpetrator.
According to the victim, an unidentified man on a motorcycle suddenly approached and forcefully snatched his bag before fleeing the scene. The loss is estimated at approximately IDR 8.7 million, along with essential personal documents.

Through witness statements and crime scene analysis, authorities narrowed the suspect to a 33-year-old man with the initials PA, who was subsequently placed under surveillance.
During the operation, officers also secured key evidence believed to be linked to the crime, including a black Suzuki Satria FU motorcycle, the victim's Vivo Y28 smartphone, clothing worn during the incident, and a black wallet containing identification cards, bank cards, and BPJS documents.
The suspect is currently being held at Sungai Beduk Police Station for further interrogation, including possible involvement in other criminal acts. Investigations remain ongoing, and case files are being prepared for submission to the public prosecutor's office.
