DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM – Allegations have emerged involving personnel of the Civil Service Police Unit (Satuan Polisi Pamong Praja/Satpol PP) in Deli Serdang Regency after a media banner belonging to online outlet kanalupdate.com was reportedly damaged without any formal procedure or prior written warning. The incident is said to have occurred on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at around 5:30 p.m. local time along Jalan Batang Kuis, Telaga Sari Village, Tanjung Morawa District.

According to accounts from local sources, the banner was allegedly torn down by a Satpol PP unit without any prior notification or official notice requesting its removal. Eyewitnesses, including residents and neighbors of the kanalupdate.com editorial office, claimed they saw the banner being damaged on site without any explanation provided.

The situation was only reported to the editorial team after the banner was discovered in a heavily damaged condition.

"I am giving a 1x24-hour ultimatum. Please restore it," Dapotraja stated firmly.

He emphasized that the act was not only a material loss but could also be interpreted as an act of intimidation against press freedom in the course of journalistic work.
