JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM – The Jambi Regional Police (Polda Jambi) have reinforced their commitment to supporting Indonesia's national Asta Cita program by destroying large quantities of seized narcotics in a coordinated anti-drug operation targeting transnational networks. The destruction was carried out on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the Jambi Police Headquarters.
The evidence destruction ceremony was led by Jambi Police Chief Inspector General Krisno H. Siregar alongside Jambi Governor Al Haris. The event was attended by representatives from the provincial government, the prosecutor's office, the military, the National Narcotics Agency, as well as civil society groups and academics.Prior to destruction, sample testing of the confiscated substances was conducted by the police forensic laboratory. Public representatives, including media personnel and civil organizations, also participated in the oversight process. The drugs were then incinerated in a sealed and environmentally controlled furnace.

The destroyed narcotics originated from three investigation files involving six suspects. The total quantities eliminated included 20,378.169 grams of methamphetamine (around 20 kilograms), 20,237 ecstasy tablets (approximately 9.1 kilograms), and 1,970 etomidate cartridges with a total volume of 4,332.5 milliliters.

Inspector General Krisno H. Siregar emphasized that the destruction was more than a symbolic act, but a concrete manifestation of the ongoing fight against organized drug crime.
"Behind every gram of drugs lies the risk of destroying young lives and breaking families," he stated.He further underlined that drug trafficking is a highly organized transnational crime that requires strong inter-agency cooperation to be effectively eradicated.

Authorities urged all elements of society to actively participate in combating drug abuse. Police spokesperson Kombes Pol. Erlan Munaji encouraged the public to report suspicious activities through the emergency hotline 110.
