JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM - The Jambi Provincial Police (Polda Jambi) and its subordinate police units uncovered a total of 154 drug cases involving 236 suspects during the "Antik Siginjai 2026" police operation. Conducted from July 8 to 27, 2026, the operation was part of Polda Jambi's efforts to combat drug abuse and the illegal trafficking of narcotics across Jambi Province.
Polda Jambi presented the final results of the operation on Friday, August 14, 2026, during a press conference held in the lobby of the Polda Jambi main building. The presentation was led by Deputy Chief of the Jambi Provincial Police, Brig. Gen. Pol. K. Yani Sudarto, and covered the results achieved by police units across all regions of Jambi Province.During Operation Antik Siginjai 2026, police arrested 236 suspects, comprising 217 men and 19 women. The results underscored the police's intensive efforts to dismantle drug abuse networks and illegal narcotics trafficking during the operation.
In addition to the arrests, police seized significant quantities of narcotics as evidence. A total of 17,323.213 grams of drugs were confiscated, consisting of 2,324.399 grams of methamphetamine, 14,617.43 grams of cannabis, 183 ecstasy tablets, and 304 milliliters of etomidate."This operation is part of Polda Jambi and its units' commitment to combating drug abuse, illegal narcotics trafficking and the circulation of dangerous pharmaceutical substances in Jambi Province. Our efforts are not limited to repressive measures, but also include early education and prevention," the Deputy Chief said.
According to him, the police's early intervention efforts focused on educating the public and providing information about the dangers of drugs. The activities targeted various sectors of society, ranging from government institutions, schools and private companies to public spaces.These measures form part of the police strategy to raise public awareness about the dangers of narcotics while encouraging greater community involvement in preventing drug trafficking.
Based on the narcotics seized during the operation, Polda Jambi estimates that as many as 70,426 people may have been protected from the potential dangers of drug abuse."Every gram of drugs we seize is not merely evidence, but also a contribution to protecting human lives, families and the future of our generation," he stressed.
Kombes Erlan Munaji said personnel from Polda Jambi and its subordinate units had made every effort to uncover drug networks and illegal narcotics trafficking throughout Jambi Province. He said the operation's results demonstrated the Indonesian Police's determination to protect the public from the dangers of narcotics.

This reflects the Indonesian Police's determination to protect the public from the threat posed by narcotics," Kombes Erlan Munaji said.In his assessment, the success of Operation Antik Siginjai 2026 should not be measured solely by the number of suspects arrested or the amount of evidence seized. More important, he said, was the number of people who could potentially be protected from the dangers of drug abuse as a result of the operation.
"The estimated 70,426 people who were potentially saved demonstrate the significant impact that combating drugs can have on society. Polda Jambi will continue to strengthen law enforcement efforts while placing prevention and public education at the center of its strategy," he explained.
The Head of Polda Jambi's Public Relations Division also urged residents to remain vigilant about their surroundings and take an active role in combating drugs. Anyone who becomes aware of activities related to drug abuse or illegal narcotics trafficking is encouraged to immediately report them to the police.
According to him, combating drugs requires the involvement of various segments of society. The police cannot carry out this task optimally without the support of the government, religious and community leaders, the education sector and other elements of society."Combating drugs requires cooperation from all stakeholders. We call on the public, the government, religious and community leaders, educational institutions and all other elements of society to work together to create a drug-free Jambi Province," he said in closing.
Following the press conference, Polda Jambi continued its activities by destroying the seized narcotics. The evidence was destroyed using a mobile incinerator. The destruction was carried out safely and in an orderly manner under the supervision and participation of various relevant authorities.Among those attending the destruction of the evidence were the Jambi Provincial Forum for Religious Harmony, the Jambi Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNN), the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency, the Health Office, the Jambi Provincial Prosecutor's Office, lawyers, non-governmental organizations involved in combating drugs, and media representatives.
The destruction of the evidence marked the conclusion of Operation Antik Siginjai 2026 while also underscoring Polda Jambi's commitment to breaking the chain of drug abuse and illegal narcotics trafficking.
