RECLAIMING STOLEN VEHICLES: Labuhanbatu Selatan Police open a claim process for 18 recovered vehicles, allowing residents to retrieve their property after successful verification at Kampung Rakyat Police Station.

LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM – The Labuhanbatu Selatan Police have launched a public claim procedure for residents seeking to recover their stolen motorcycles and cars after 18 vehicles were secured in a recent theft investigation within the jurisdiction.

Authorities confirmed that a total of 18 vehicles have been confiscated during an ongoing investigation into a vehicle theft syndicate. The units include both cars and motorcycles, currently being held at the Kampung Rakyat Police Station for identification and verification purposes.

Among the recovered vehicles are a Daihatsu Sigra, Honda CR-V, Honda PCX, Honda Scoopy, Honda Supra X, Yamaha N-Max, and Yamaha Filano, along with several other units bearing different license plates.

Strict Requirements for Vehicle Reclamation

The Head of Kampung Rakyat Police Station, AKP Muhammad Ilham Lubis, stated that residents wishing to reclaim their vehicles must present valid supporting documents, including the original vehicle registration certificate (STNK) or ownership book (BPKB), a national identity card, and any loss reports or additional proof of ownership.

"This is an opportunity for the public. We are opening access as widely as possible so that the secured vehicles can be returned to their rightful owners," AKP Muhammad Ilham Lubis said.

Theft Cases Linked to Remote Plantation Areas

Police revealed that isolated roads and plantation areas in Labuhanbatu Selatan are frequently targeted by thieves due to limited surveillance. Offenders often take advantage of unattended parking areas before transporting stolen vehicles to other regions or dismantling them for resale in parts.

AKP Muhammad Ilham Lubis emphasized that the investigation not only focuses on apprehending suspects but also prioritizes returning the vehicles to their rightful owners.

"Anyone who has lost their vehicle is encouraged to come forward with complete documentation. We will assist in verifying the data so the vehicle can be returned," he added.
