LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM – The Kotapinang Police Sector held a public order and security (Kamtibmas) meeting on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Sisumut Village Office, Kotapinang Sub-district. The initiative was directly led by Kotapinang Police Chief AKP Maruli Tua Siregar, aiming to strengthen communication between law enforcement and the local community.
The meeting brought together village officials, religious leaders, community figures, and residents in an open dialogue session. Various pressing issues affecting the community were discussed, particularly cases of palm oil fruit theft (fresh fruit bunches/TBS) and the rising concern over drug abuse.Police Warning on Palm Fruit Theft and Drug Threats
Read Also:AKP Maruli emphasized that maintaining public security is a shared responsibility between the police and the community. He urged residents to immediately report any disturbances affecting public order.
"If there are problems in the village, do not hesitate to report them immediately. You can contact the nearest police station or call 110. We are always ready to assist," he said.
He also highlighted the increasing cases of palm fruit theft and the harvesting of loose fruits in plantation areas, stressing that such acts harm the community and constitute criminal offenses."We urge residents not to engage in the theft of TBS or loose fruit. This is not only illegal but also morally and religiously unacceptable," he stated firmly.

AKP Maruli further explained recent updates in Indonesia's Criminal Code (KUHP and KUHAP), particularly related to theft offenses. The goal is to enhance public legal awareness and prevent violations of the law.

"Drugs are our common enemy. If you have any information regarding drug abuse or trafficking, please report it immediately. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential," he emphasized.
Village Government Supports InitiativeActing Village Head of Sisumut, Handayani Siregar, welcomed the police initiative and praised its positive impact on the community.
