LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM – The Chief of Torgamba Police Sector, Sunipan Gurusinga, led a direct inspection visit to PTPN IV Regional I, Torgamba Plantation, on Wednesday (May 6, 2026), as part of intensified efforts to curb the rising theft of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) and loose palm fruits.
The activity began at 09:30 a.m. local time in Torgamba Village, Torgamba District, marking a concrete move by law enforcement to strengthen security across plantation areas. During the visit, the police chief emphasized the importance of close coordination between authorities and plantation management.Strengthening Joint Strategy Against Theft
Read Also:Speaking before plantation officials and security personnel, Gurusinga called for tighter collaboration among all stakeholders to prevent criminal actors from exploiting security gaps.
"There must be no space for palm oil thieves. We must act collectively, in a coordinated and decisive manner," he stated.
The visit was attended by Ari Kurniawan and several officers from the Torgamba Police Sector, including Karyanto, Erwin Lubis, Bonor S., and Hayali Rambe, alongside plantation assistants, employees, and security staff.

During a joint assembly, Gurusinga issued a strong warning to plantation security personnel to carry out their duties professionally and refrain from any involvement in illegal activities, including acting as accomplices."There must be no hidden agreements. No one should act as protection for so-called 'palm oil ninjas.' Any violations will be dealt with firmly," he stressed.

Addressing Drug Abuse Risks
In addition to theft, Gurusinga also highlighted the dangers of drug abuse within plantation environments, noting its potential to damage both productivity and social stability."Drugs are a common enemy. Once someone gets involved, they risk not only their job but also their family," he warned.

Torgamba Plantation Manager, M.
