LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM – A total of 147 prospective Hajj pilgrims from South Labuhanbatu Regency were officially sent off to the Holy Land in an emotional ceremony held on Friday evening, May 1, 2026. The farewell took place at the Santun Berkata Bijak Berkarya (SBBK) Square in Kotapinang, drawing a large crowd of residents.
Thousands of people gathered at the venue to witness the departure, creating a deeply moving atmosphere as families, religious leaders, and local officials bid farewell to the "Guests of Allah" with prayers and tears.Official Send-Off Led by Regional Leader
The pilgrims were formally dispatched by South Labuhanbatu Regent Fery Sahputra Simatupang, accompanied by Deputy Regent Syahdian Purba Siboro, during an official ceremony at the SBBK Hall in Kotapinang. The event was also attended by members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), Regional Secretary M. Reza Pahlevi Nasution, heads of local government agencies, religious figures, and members of the public.
A Spiritual Journey of Sincerity and Devotion
Regent Fery congratulated the pilgrims, describing them as selected individuals granted a noble opportunity. He emphasized that the Hajj is not merely a physical journey but a profound spiritual experience requiring sincerity and devotion."This journey is not only physical but also a journey of the heart. Purify your intentions, maintain sincerity, and entrust everything to Allah SWT to achieve an accepted Hajj," he said.
He also reminded the pilgrims to maintain good conduct and represent their region and country positively throughout their pilgrimage.
Guidance for Hajj Officers and Prayers from Deputy Regent
The Regent urged all Hajj escorts and officers to carry out their duties with full responsibility, professionalism, and sincerity."Guide the pilgrims wholeheartedly and professionally. This is a noble responsibility," he stressed.
Meanwhile, Deputy Regent Syahdian Purba Siboro offered prayers for the pilgrims' safety and smooth journey, hoping they would return home as mabrur and mabruroh Hajj pilgrims."May Allah grant all pilgrims health, safety, and ease in performing their worship," he prayed.
Pilgrims from Diverse Age GroupsAmong the 147 pilgrims, the oldest participant is Adjam Nasution (84) from Sungai Kanan District, while the youngest is Nazwa Nadila Nasution (21) from Torgamba District. Their participation reflects the strong enthusiasm of the South Labuhanbatu community in fulfilling the fifth pillar of Islam.
