LHOKSEUMAWE | INDATANEWS.COM – The Government of Aceh, through the Office of Government Affairs and Regional Autonomy of the Aceh Regional Secretariat, held a workshop and technical training on data collection and the calculation of needs for the implementation of Minimum Service Standards (Standar Pelayanan Minimal/SPM) following disasters in Regional Area I. The event took place in Lhokseumawe from May 21 to 22, 2026.
A total of 50 participants from 10 districts and cities across Aceh Region I attended the two-day program. They represented various institutions, including regional development planning agencies (Bappeda), the Housing and Settlement Office (Dinas Perkim), the Communication, Information, and Encryption Office (Dinas Kominsa), as well as regional government bureaus from each district and city.Several Aceh provincial government work units (SKPA) also took part in the activity, including Bappeda Aceh, the Aceh Communication and Information Office, the Aceh Housing and Settlement Office, the Aceh Inspectorate, and the Office of Government Affairs and Regional Autonomy of the Aceh Regional Secretariat. The workshop was supported by the SKALA program, a partnership between the Government of Indonesia and the Government of Australia.

Aceh Provincial Secretary M. Nasir, SIP, MPA, whose speech was delivered by Dr. Bob Mizwar, SSTP, M.Si., Head of the Office of Government Affairs and Regional Autonomy of the Aceh Regional Secretariat, emphasized the strategic importance of this activity in improving basic public services, particularly in areas affected by hydrometeorological disasters in 2025.

He added that post-disaster SPM fulfillment requires fast and data-driven planning from local governments to ensure effective response and recovery.

In his remarks, the Aceh Provincial Secretary also highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration. Local governments are expected to adjust their planning more flexibly to ensure that basic services remain accessible, particularly for vulnerable groups such as low-income households and disaster-affected communities.
The workshop aimed, among other things, to identify changes in SPM service targets for the 2026 fiscal year, determine priorities for 2027, and develop realistic data-based planning aligned with regional financial capacity.It also focused on strengthening the capacity of SPM teams in properly completing Forms I and II, which serve as key references for regional policy-making.
Read Also:Bob Mizwar further reported the latest progress of SPM implementation in Aceh. The highest budget realization was recorded in Bener Meriah Regency at 41.57 percent, while Langsa City led SPM achievement in the first quarter of 2026 with 69.46 percent.
However, several regencies and cities have yet to submit their first-quarter reports. The Aceh government has therefore urged faster reporting as part of its commitment to improving public service delivery.
Strengthening Sustainable Public Service DeliveryThe Aceh Provincial Secretary concluded that the success of SPM implementation strongly depends on data quality and inter-sectoral coordination. He urged all participants to actively engage in the workshop and utilize the forum to strengthen coordination and formulate concrete actions in their respective regions.
