LABUHANBATU | INDATANEWS.COM~ The Regional Board of Punggawa Guru Madrasah Nasional Indonesia (PW PGMNI) in North Sumatra organized a communal iftar (fast-breaking) event with PGMNI officials from various districts and cities. The gathering took place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Sultan Saudi Restaurant in Rantau Prapat, Labuhanbatu Regency, fostering a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Enhancing the Quality of Madrasah TeachersUstaz H. Idris Aritonang, chairman of PW PGMNI North Sumatra, urged all regional board members to continuously develop their skills as Madrasah teachers to guide the younger generation in faith and devotion.
"This is no simple task. To enlighten the nation, Madrasah teachers must improve their own competencies. This will directly enhance the quality of teaching and education in our Madrasahs," Idris explained.
He also highlighted that the central board of PGMNI (PB) is currently working to secure the welfare of Madrasah teachers through their appointment as PPPK (Government Employees with Work Agreements).
"Mr. H. Heri Purnama from the central board is committed to employing Madrasah teachers as PPPK," Idris emphasized.Additionally, PW PGMNI North Sumatra is ensuring that all Madrasah teachers are registered in the Dapodik database (Basic Education Data) and hold a unique teacher identification number (NUPTK). Idris stressed that teachers who have served for decades should no longer be without Dapodik registration or NUPTK.

Dr. H. Asbin Pasaribu, head of the Labuhanbatu Religious Affairs Office, attended the event to inspire Madrasah teachers. Before assuming this role, he began his career as a teacher at a private Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MIS), later served at a state Madrasah Tsanawiyah, and eventually became head of the Islamic Education Division.
"Alhamdulillah, today I serve as the head of the Religious Affairs Office in Labuhanbatu Regency, and also as acting head in South Labuhanbatu," Dr. Asbin said.He highlighted that his achievements are the result of hard work and sincere dedication as a Madrasah teacher, and expressed his commitment to improving teacher welfare:
