DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - Deli Serdang Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan has officially sent off 27 young athletes from the Deli Serdang Inline Skate (DSIL) club to compete in the Pariaman Open 2026, scheduled to take place in Pariaman City, West Sumatra. The national-level competition will be held from July 2 to July 5, 2026, and is regarded as one of the most prestigious events in Indonesia's inline skating calendar.
The send-off ceremony was held at the North Sumatra Main Stadium in Batang Kuis District on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. The event followed the successful staging of the Tour de Deli Serdang 2026, which previously attracted thousands of participants from various communities and regions both within and outside North Sumatra.
Asri Ludin reaffirmed that the Deli Serdang Regency Government continues to strengthen its commitment to developing competitive sports. This includes improving training quality, building a structured athlete development system, and providing adequate and sustainable sports infrastructure.
He stressed that sports development is not solely about achieving victories, but also about shaping disciplined, resilient, and competitive young individuals. Therefore, local government support will continue to be directed toward optimizing athlete development."InsyaAllah, within this year we will build an inline skating track in Deli Serdang that can be used both by athletes and the public," said Asri Ludin.

Furthermore, the Regent noted that participation in the Pariaman Open 2026 represents an important opportunity for DSIL athletes to improve their skills and gain valuable competitive experience. He added that both national and international competition experience plays a crucial role in athlete development. The focus is not solely on winning, but also on learning and continuously improving performance."When our track is completed, we will not only train but also host competitions to further strengthen sporting competition," the Regent concluded.
