JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM - The Jelutung Sector Police (Polsek Jelutung) have arrested a suspect allegedly involved in the theft of ten mattresses from a storage area inside a commercial building located at Jalan Sultan Agung No. 067, RT 11, Payo Lebar Village, Jelutung District, Jambi City. The suspect is believed to have entered the building by forcing open a second-floor window before taking the mattresses belonging to the shop owner.
The theft reportedly took place on Monday, June 22, 2026, at around 4:00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB). However, the owner only discovered the incident two days later when he went to the second floor of the building to perform prayers. The inspection showed that the data in the system remained complete. Due to the discrepancy between the recorded inventory and the actual stock, the owner and his employee conducted a direct inspection of the second-floor storage area.
During the inspection, they found that the glass panel of a window had been altered and appeared to have been shifted or loosened. The discovery strengthened suspicions that someone had gained access to the building through the window. After conducting a thorough check, the owner found that a total of ten mattresses were missing from the storage area. The incident caused an estimated loss of around Rp4 million. The case was subsequently reported to the Jelutung Police for further investigation.
Jelutung Police Chief AKP Choiril Umam stated that his officers immediately followed up on the victim's report. The criminal investigation unit of Polsek Jelutung then carried out a series of investigations that led to the identification of a suspected perpetrator.

Police are continuing their investigation to locate the seven missing mattresses and gather additional evidence related to the incident.Investigators are also examining additional information that could assist in locating all remaining evidence. These efforts are aimed at completing the investigation and revealing the full sequence of events surrounding the crime.
The suspect is currently being held at the Jelutung Police Station and will undergo further legal proceedings in accordance with applicable regulations.
