Aceh Ensures Stable Livestock Supply Ahead of Meugang and Eid al-Adha 1447 H

BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM The Livestock and Animal Health Office of Aceh Province has confirmed that the supply of livestock for the upcoming Meugang traditions and Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah is sufficient and secure. The provincial government has conducted comprehensive data collection and verification on cattle, buffalo, goats, and poultry, including price projections ahead of the Meugang period on May 25–26, 2026.

Head of the Aceh Livestock Office, drh. Safridhal, stated that field teams have been deployed across districts and municipalities to ensure the accuracy of livestock data and to verify the suitability of animals for sale and slaughter.

"We have collected all data and directly inspected the animals at farms. The available livestock meets the requirements and is fit for sacrifice," Safridhal said on Monday, May 18, 2026, in a phone interview.

Safridhal emphasized that demand for livestock in Aceh typically rises significantly during Meugang and Eid al-Adha. Therefore, strict monitoring is being implemented to maintain stable distribution and ensure market availability.

The agency is also closely monitoring price trends across major trading centers, as prices for cattle, buffalo, goats, and poultry are expected to adjust in line with increased seasonal demand.

"We urge the public to be careful when purchasing. Choose healthy animals of sufficient age that have been inspected by veterinary authorities," Safridhal added.

The Aceh Livestock Office confirmed that monitoring activities will continue through Eid al-Adha to ensure the quality and safety of livestock circulating in the market. (IDNC)
