DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - The Regent of Deli Serdang, Asri Ludin Tambunan, officially sent off 56 members of the Deli Serdang kafilah to compete in the 40th Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) of North Sumatra Province in 2026. The ceremonial event took place on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Masjid Agung Sultan Thaf Sinar Basarsyah, attended by participants, mentors, and representatives of the regional government.
The delegation will represent Deli Serdang in one of the province's most prestigious Islamic competitions, which not only highlights Qur'anic recitation skills but also promotes deeper understanding and practice of Islamic teachings across North Sumatra.
"You are the official representatives of Deli Serdang. What you bring is not only achievement but also the image of our region. Please uphold that trust," he stated.
He also urged participants to maintain discipline, uphold Qur'anic values, and perform at their best throughout the competition.
"This increase is intended to strengthen motivation and encourage learning spirit. We aim to nurture a generation that loves and lives by the Qur'an," Asri Ludin Tambunan explained.
He expressed hope that the participants would use the event to deepen their connection with the Qur'an while also elevating the positive image of Deli Serdang at the provincial level.
The 40th North Sumatra MTQ 2026 will take place from June 15 to June 25, 2026, at the Astaka complex on Jalan Willem Iskandar (Pancing), Deli Serdang. (IDNC)
