LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM - The Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency Government held a religious gathering for Muslim civil servants (Aparatur Sipil Negara/ASN) on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the first-floor hall of the Labuhanbatu Selatan Regent's Office. The event highlighted the importance of faith, character, honesty, and responsibility in carrying out official duties.
The event was attended by Labuhanbatu Selatan Deputy Regent Syahdian Purba Siboro, along with Muslim ASN from various government departments and agencies within the Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency Government.The religious lecture was delivered by Ustadz Ahmad Ridwan Nasution. He explained that religious values should be reflected in daily conduct, including in the performance of official duties and the delivery of public services by ASN.
Ustadz Ahmad Ridwan Nasution emphasized the importance of honesty, responsibility, mutual respect, and compassion toward others. In his view, ASN carry a major responsibility because public administration duties are directly connected to the interests of the community.
He explained that religious knowledge should not remain merely at the level of understanding. Instead, these values must be reflected in the attitudes, words, and actions of employees as they carry out their professional responsibilities.According to Ahmad Ridwan, spiritual strength is an important element in developing a character that enables civil servants to maintain their integrity and sense of responsibility.
In carrying out their duties, ASN need more than technical and administrative skills. They must also uphold ethical principles and maintain the public's trust, which is an essential part of public service.Honesty at work, maintaining entrusted responsibilities, respecting others, and working for the benefit of society are ways in which Islamic values can be put into practice in everyday life.
The message was delivered in the context of the demands placed on ASN to provide professional public services. Every civil servant is responsible for carrying out assigned duties in accordance with their authority and applicable regulations.
Labuhanbatu Selatan Deputy Regent Syahdian Purba Siboro said that improving the quality of human resources within the government administration does not depend solely on technical skills.
In his view, efforts to improve employee competencies must go hand in hand with strengthening religious values, integrity, and a sense of responsibility."Through this kind of religious gathering, we not only expand our religious knowledge, but also strengthen interpersonal relationships and remind ourselves once again of our responsibility as civil servants to provide the best possible service to the community," he said.
Syahdian explained that religious gatherings could form part of efforts to guide and support ASN, particularly in strengthening religious understanding and relationships among employees within the Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency Government.In carrying out government responsibilities, ASN directly encounter various needs and interests of the community. Therefore, employees must maintain professionalism while also observing ethical principles in delivering public services.
Strengthening religious values was also part of the religious lecture. Ahmad Ridwan reminded ASN to put religious principles into practice through concrete actions, both in the workplace and in community life.
Following the religious gathering and lecture, the program continued with an information session on financing options for Umrah and Hajj Plus offered by Bank Muamalat and Bank Sumut.
During the session, representatives of the banks explained the available financing products and the procedures that ASN could use when planning an Umrah journey or participating in the Hajj Plus program.The entire event formed part of a religious development program for Muslim ASN within the Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency Government.
Through the religious gathering, ASN received religious guidance on honesty, responsibility, character, and the fulfillment of their official duties. The subsequent banking presentation provided information on financing options for religious journeys.The Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency Government considers religious development activities to be part of its programs for Muslim ASN within the regional administration.
The event also provided an opportunity for employees to strengthen their social relationships and deepen their understanding of their responsibilities in delivering public services.In his lecture, Ahmad Ridwan once again emphasized that the duties of civil servants must be guided by honesty and responsibility. These values are particularly important because ASN perform duties that are directly connected to the interests of the community.
Meanwhile, Syahdian Purba Siboro called for efforts to improve ASN quality to focus not only on employees' ability to perform their professional duties.
