DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - Deputy Regent of Deli Serdang Lom Lom Suwondo, SS, on Friday, August 7, 2026, swore in and officially inducted 25 administrative, supervisory and functional officials at the Cendana Hall, Deli Serdang Regent's Office. The inauguration was part of the Deli Serdang Regency Government's efforts to strengthen administrative performance while promoting faster, more transparent and more accessible public services.
Among the officials assigned to new positions was Fikri Hanafi Lubis, who has been appointed as the Head of Bangun Purba District (Camat). Together with the other appointed officials, Fikri is responsible for carrying out government duties and ensuring that public administration operates optimally within their respective areas of responsibility. In his address, Lom Lom Suwondo emphasized that the inauguration was not merely about filling positions within the administrative structure. Rather, it was part of the regional government's efforts to improve the quality of the bureaucracy so that it becomes more professional, adaptable and better able to respond to development needs and public expectations.
"The position you are assuming is a responsibility entrusted to you following careful assessment and consideration. Therefore, that responsibility must be fulfilled with dedication, integrity, loyalty and tangible performance," he said.Amid these developments, he said, the public is also becoming more critical and better informed. Citizens are not only bringing forward their concerns but are increasingly expressing their expectations and evaluating the quality of government services.
Therefore, Lom Lom urged all civil servants to move away from outdated bureaucratic practices that are often characterized by slow procedures and instead build a more responsive public administration. He called for the "Fast, Transparent and Easy" concept, or Cepat, Transparan, Mudah (CTM), to be applied to every public service. In his view, officials must focus on solving problems faced by the public rather than merely processing administrative procedures. Every officeholder must also be able to translate their duties and authority into services that provide direct benefits to citizens.
"A position is not an award to be enjoyed, but a responsibility that must be demonstrated through work and service to the public. Regardless of the position you hold, the ultimate goal remains the same: to provide the best possible service to citizens," he emphasized.Lom Lom also reminded the officials to carefully consider the benefits and impacts of every decision, program and policy. He called on all government employees to ensure that every government action genuinely delivers positive impacts for the people of Deli Serdang Regency.

According to Lom Lom, officials must change their understanding of public service. Rather than simply completing administrative processes, the focus must be on providing concrete solutions to problems faced by the community. Citizens who come to a government office with a concern should therefore leave with certainty and a solution.
"I want people who come to us with a problem to be able to go home with a solution—not with an unclear promise about when it will be fulfilled," he said.He added that the Deli Serdang Regency Government was committed to supporting the newly appointed officials in carrying out their duties. This support includes providing communication channels for reporting problems in the field, assistance in meeting professional responsibilities and constructive dialogue in finding solutions to various administrative challenges.
Lom Lom stressed, however, that such support must be accompanied by the officials' responsibility to deliver tangible results. The trust placed in them by the government must be answered through performance, innovation and changes that can be directly felt by the public. He said the regional government would recognize officials who demonstrate strong commitment and outstanding performance and would provide them with opportunities for professional development. At the same time, the government would objectively assess the performance of officials who fail to carry out their responsibilities optimally, in accordance with applicable regulations.

He reminded them that holding public office carries a significant responsibility. Therefore, every officeholder must safeguard the trust placed in them and demonstrate their commitment through concrete actions in their daily service.
Lom Lom also called on the spouses and families of the officials to continue providing support, prayers and motivation. In his view, an officeholder's success in carrying out their duties is inseparable from the role of the family, which provides support and sincerity throughout the fulfillment of that responsibility. He expressed hope that family support would give the officials additional strength to face the various challenges of managing government administration and provide better services to the public.
"I wish you success in carrying out your duties. Please continue to take care of your health. May Almighty God always grant us guidance and strength in carrying out this responsibility," he concluded. The inauguration of the 25 officials also represents an important step for the Deli Serdang Regency Government in strengthening its administrative structure and improving the quality of public services. Integrity, performance, innovation and the ability to solve public problems are among the central elements of the responsibility entrusted to every officeholder.
The inauguration is therefore expected to go beyond a mere change of position or office and bring about changes in the way government administration operates. Fast, transparent, easy, accurate and citizen-oriented services are expected to continue to be strengthened so that the people of Deli Serdang can directly experience the government's presence in their daily lives.
