MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM - North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution has expressed his support for the Regional Work Meeting (Rakerwil) of the National Association of Village Consultative Councils (Asosiasi Badan Permusyawaratan Desa Nasional/Abpednas) in North Sumatra, scheduled for November 2026. Bobby called on the organization to develop work programs that not only strengthen its institutional structure but also deliver a direct impact on people in villages.
Bobby expressed his support when he received representatives of Abpednas North Sumatra for an audience at the North Sumatra Governor's Office on Jalan Diponegoro Number 30, Medan, on Monday, September 21, 2026. During the meeting, the Abpednas representatives informed him about the planned Rakerwil and invited Bobby to attend the event.
According to Bobby, Abpednas has a strategic role because the organization is directly connected to the interests of people in villages. He therefore hoped that Abpednas would use the Rakerwil as an opportunity to formulate programs that genuinely address the needs of communities in various regions.
Bobby acknowledged Abpednas' contribution in supporting regional governments in improving the welfare of rural communities. In his view, the organization, which brings together village consultative councils, can play an important role in strengthening communication and cooperation between village communities and the government.
"Pemerintah sangat mendukung asosiasi ini yang memiliki tujuan untuk kemanusiaan. Kami rasa kegiatan ini sangat bagus untuk kemajuan organisasi sekaligus berdampak langsung ke masyarakat. Mudah-mudahan segala program yang dirancang nantinya dapat menyentuh langsung masyarakat desa", said Bobby Nasution.
Bobby expressed hope that the Abpednas North Sumatra Rakerwil would be successfully held and produce various program proposals that could be implemented concretely. At the same time, he said he hoped the programs would support all Abpednas members while creating broader benefits for the community.
The support is also part of efforts to encourage community organizations and village-level institutions to further expand their cooperation with the government. According to Bobby, effective cooperation can help ensure that various development programs remain connected to the needs of communities at the village level.
Through the Rakerwil, Abpednas North Sumatra is expected to develop a clearly focused work agenda with concrete benefits. The outcomes of the forum could later serve as a basis for Abpednas members to participate in efforts to develop and improve the welfare of rural communities.
Chairman of the Abpednas North Sumatra Regional Leadership Council (DPD), Abdul Khair, said his organization plans to hold a Rakerwil for its members in November 2026. The Abpednas leadership hopes the event can be coordinated with the schedule of the Governor of North Sumatra.
Abdul Khair explained that his organization wants to establish closer communication and cooperation with the North Sumatra Provincial Government. In his view, cooperation between Abpednas and the government is necessary to ensure that programs developed by the organization are aligned with the needs of communities in the regions.
"Kami meminta segala program untuk dapat dikolaborasikan bersama dengan pemerintah, karena masyarakat di daerah sangat membutuhkan bantuan dan perhatian dari seluruh jajaran pemerintah", said Abdul Khair. He was accompanied at the audience by Treasurer Agus Salim Arja and other members of the organization's leadership.
Abdul Khair sees this cooperation as an opportunity to expand Abpednas' contribution to various development programs. Abpednas members are directly involved in village communities, giving them an opportunity to understand the problems and needs of people in their respective areas firsthand.
For this reason, Abpednas North Sumatra does not want the Rakerwil to be viewed merely as an organizational event, but also as a forum for developing concrete measures to support communities. The leadership also intends to ensure that the results of discussions at the Rakerwil are translated into programs that benefit village communities.
In addition to preparing for the Rakerwil, Abpednas North Sumatra declared its readiness to cooperate with the government on various village-level development programs. Abdul Khair emphasized that his organization is open to creating synergies with the government in implementing programs that address the interests of local communities.
According to Abpednas, village development requires the involvement of various stakeholders so that programs can accurately reflect the needs of communities. The government has responsibilities and resources for implementing development, while village-level institutions can help convey the aspirations and needs of local residents.
In this context, Abpednas North Sumatra intends to contribute by strengthening communication and coordination with regional governments. The cooperation is also expected to help expand the benefits of various programs so that they do not remain at the planning stage but can be directly felt by the community.
Abdul Khair also asked Bobby Nasution to attend the event and officially open the Abpednas North Sumatra Rakerwil. The request was conveyed together with the invitation for the North Sumatra governor to attend the event scheduled for November 2026.
Bobby welcomed the plan and expressed hope that the entire event would run successfully. He also emphasized the importance of ensuring that programs developed by Abpednas provide direct benefits to people in villages.
