ACEH TENGAH | INDATANEWS.COM - Aceh Tengah Police Chief AKBP Muhammad Taufiq, S.I.K., M.H., has called on residents to strengthen security awareness in their neighborhoods, use social media responsibly, and work together to prevent juvenile delinquency. He delivered the message while attending the "Shubuh Berkah" event held jointly with the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Takengon and the Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI) of Aceh Tengah at the Babuttaubah Mosque, located at the Old Terminal in Bebesen District, on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at around 5:00 a.m. WIB.

In the reflective atmosphere following the morning prayer, AKBP Muhammad Taufiq used the opportunity to convey several messages to the public concerning the maintenance of security and public order. In his view, community participation is an important component in jointly maintaining security and order within each neighborhood.

AKBP Muhammad Taufiq also reminded residents to exercise greater caution when receiving and sharing information through social media. The public, he stressed, must verify the accuracy of information before passing it on to others.

Responsible Use of Social Media

AKBP Muhammad Taufiq urged residents to use social media responsibly. He warned against using digital platforms to spread misinformation, provoke others, or share personal information in an irresponsible manner.

In his view, the ability to quickly receive and distribute information through mobile phones must be accompanied by prudent and responsible behavior. Residents should verify information first so that its dissemination does not create unrest or misunderstandings within the community.

AKBP Muhammad Taufiq encouraged the public to play an active role in creating a healthy digital environment. He expressed hope that residents would not be easily influenced by information whose source or accuracy had not been clearly established.

Alongside responsible social media use, the police chief also placed particular emphasis on preventing juvenile delinquency. He urged parents to pay closer attention to and supervise their children's activities and social environment, including their use of mobile phones.

The police chief emphasized that the family plays an important role in shaping children's character while also helping prevent them from becoming involved in environments that could negatively affect their future.

"The role of the family is very important in preventing children from becoming involved in an environment that could harm their future," AKBP Muhammad Taufiq warned.

He encouraged parents to establish good communication with their children so they remain aware of their activities, friendships, and the various problems they may face. In his view, family supervision can be a first step toward preventing various forms of juvenile delinquency.

Promoting Greater Road Safety

During the event, the police chief also called on residents to set an example in promoting road safety. He urged the public to make safe driving a habit and comply with all applicable traffic regulations.

AKBP Muhammad Taufiq reminded motorcycle riders to always wear helmets approved under Indonesia's SNI standards. Motorists, meanwhile, must always wear seat belts while driving.

The public was also urged not to use mobile phones while driving, as doing so can impair concentration and increase the risk of accidents. In addition, motorists must obey traffic signs and carry the required vehicle and driving documents.

AKBP Muhammad Taufiq also reminded residents not to park their vehicles along the roadside or on road shoulders. He expressed hope that compliance with traffic regulations would become part of a shared awareness, creating greater safety and comfort for all road users.

The message was directed not only at motorists but at all segments of society as part of efforts to build a culture of traffic compliance and discipline. He said that individual awareness plays an important role in improving road safety.
