ACEH TENGAH DEPUTY POLICE CHIEF CALLS FOR GREATER PUBLIC SAFETY: Deputy Police Chief of Aceh Tengah, Police Commissioner Samsir, urges residents attending the Subuh Keliling event at Al-Muhajirin Mosque in Paya Tumpi village, Kebayakan subdistrict, on Wednesday, 21 October 2026, to pay attention to neighbourhood safety, supervise their children’s social relationships and help prevent juvenile delinquency.

ACEH TENGAH | INDATANEWS.COM - The Deputy Police Chief of Aceh Tengah, Police Commissioner Samsir, has urged the public to strengthen public safety and order by paying greater attention to their neighbourhoods and keeping a closer eye on their children's social relationships. He said these measures were important to prevent juvenile delinquency and sexual misconduct, in which children could become either victims or perpetrators.

Samsir made the appeal on Wednesday, 21 October 2026, at 5 am local time during Subuh Keliling (Suling), an early-morning community outreach programme organised by the Aceh Tengah Police, at Al-Muhajirin Mosque in Paya Tumpi village, Kebayakan subdistrict, Aceh Tengah Regency.

The event was held on behalf of the Aceh Tengah Police Chief, Senior Police Commissioner Teguh Siswoyo. In addition to strengthening relations between the police and the public, the Subuh Keliling programme aims to deliver public safety messages directly to residents and raise awareness of the importance of maintaining public order.

In his address, Samsir emphasised that parental supervision played a crucial role in protecting children from harmful social influences. He reminded families to pay close attention to their children's activities, friendship groups and everyday behaviour.

Parental Supervision to Prevent Juvenile Delinquency

According to Samsir, parents should establish open communication with their children while remaining aware of the social environments in which they spend their time. Such guidance could help prevent young people from engaging in problematic behaviour or finding themselves in situations that might jeopardise their safety and future.

Preventing juvenile delinquency required collective efforts, he added. The family was the first environment in which children received support and guidance. At the same time, the wider community shared responsibility for creating a safe environment that supported young people's development.

This message forms part of the police's efforts to prevent disturbances to public safety and order by strengthening engagement with residents. Through direct dialogue, the police hope to encourage people to pay closer attention to social problems in their neighbourhoods and work promptly with the relevant authorities whenever potential security risks arise.

The involvement of parents and the wider community is essential to ensure that child protection extends beyond the home to neighbourhoods, schools and everyday social interactions.

Police Warn Against Excessively Loud Exhausts

Alongside parental supervision, Samsir addressed the use of knalpot brong, excessively loud exhaust systems that do not comply with vehicle technical regulations. He urged residents to avoid using such exhausts and obey traffic regulations to maintain order and safety on the roads.

Non-compliant exhaust systems can disrupt residents' quality of life, particularly when vehicles pass through residential areas. Compliance with vehicle technical requirements is therefore also an expression of every road user's responsibility towards the people around them.

Samsir stressed that maintaining public safety and order involved more than preventing crime. Obeying traffic regulations, showing consideration for others and being willing to contribute to public order were also essential to ensuring peaceful coexistence.

Through these appeals, the Aceh Tengah Police hope to strengthen public awareness of individual responsibility in preventing disturbances to public safety. A willingness to follow regulations and remind one another about inappropriate behaviour should help create a more orderly and peaceful environment.

Subuh Keliling Strengthens Police–Community Partnership

The Subuh Keliling event was also attended by the Aceh Tengah Regent, the Head of the Aceh Tengah District Prosecutor's Office, the rector of the State Islamic Institute in Takengon, the head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs office in Aceh Tengah Regency, the chairman of the Indonesian Mosque Council in Aceh Tengah, senior police officers from the Aceh Tengah Police and officers from the Kebayakan and Bebesen police sectors.

The presence of representatives from the regency administration, law enforcement agencies, educational institutions, religious organisations and the police underlined the importance of cross-sector cooperation in maintaining peaceful community life. Such cooperation is intended to strengthen the prevention of social problems and encourage residents to take an active role in improving safety in their own neighbourhoods.

Through the Head of Public Relations, Police Commissioner Rasimin, Aceh Tengah Police Chief Teguh Siswoyo said that Subuh Keliling was among the Indonesian National Police's initiatives to deepen engagement with the public and expand collaborative efforts to maintain public safety.

"Through Subuh Keliling, we are calling on the public to work together to maintain security and public order, pay greater attention to their surroundings and supervise their children so that they do not become involved in risky social relationships," Rasimin said.

He added that cooperation between the Indonesian National Police and the public was crucial to creating a safe, orderly and peaceful environment. Community participation was necessary to ensure that the safety messages were put into practice in everyday life.

The Aceh Tengah Police reaffirmed their commitment to remaining close to the community through a public-oriented approach and religious activities. These efforts form part of their service to residents, helping strengthen relations with the public and promote the principle of a police force that works alongside the community to maintain safety.

Through Subuh Keliling, the police hope residents will become more actively involved in maintaining neighbourhood safety, complying with regulations and paying greater attention to child protection. Cooperation between families, communities, government institutions and law enforcement agencies is expected to help create a safer environment for young people and all residents of Aceh Tengah.
