Aceh Government Receives Eleventh Consecutive Unqualified Audit Opinion from Indonesian Audit Board

BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM - The Government of Aceh Province has recorded another major achievement in regional financial governance after the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (Badan Pemeriksa Keuangan Republik Indonesia/BPK RI) issued an Unqualified Opinion (Wajar Tanpa Pengecualian/WTP) on the province's financial report for the 2025 fiscal year. This marks Aceh's eleventh consecutive WTP opinion.

The handover of the Audit Report (Laporan Hasil Pemeriksaan/LHP) was conducted during a plenary session of the Aceh Regional House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Aceh/DPR Aceh) on Monday, June 22, 2026. The report was formally submitted by Hery Subowo, Advisor for Risk Management at BPK RI, to Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf.

The ceremony was attended by members of the DPR Aceh leadership, Regional Secretary Muhammad Nasir, and heads of various regional work units (SKPA), reflecting the importance of the financial accountability process at the provincial level.

Benchmark of Financial Transparency and Accountability

The repeated achievement of the WTP opinion serves as an indicator that Aceh's financial management complies with national accounting standards, adheres to applicable regulations, and is supported by an adequate internal control system. It also reflects the provincial government's ongoing commitment to strengthening transparency and accountability in the management of public funds.

Continued Reform in Financial Governance

Governor Muzakir Manaf expressed his gratitude for the achievement, stating that the eleventh consecutive WTP opinion is the result of collective efforts by all regional government institutions in improving transparent and responsible financial governance.

"Alhamdulillah, for the 2025 fiscal year, BPK RI has once again issued a WTP opinion for the financial report of the Government of Aceh. This is the eleventh consecutive achievement. We hope this success will motivate us to further improve the quality of financial management and jointly realize a clean, transparent, and accountable government," said Muzakir Manaf, also known as Mualem.

He further emphasized that the Government of Aceh will not become complacent and will continue to pursue improvements in budget management and financial administration.

Implementation of BPK Recommendations

The Governor also stated that all recommendations from BPK RI would be implemented in a timely manner and in accordance with applicable regulations. These follow-up actions are considered an essential part of strengthening governance and improving financial quality in the province.

"We will implement all BPK RI recommendations within the stipulated timeframes and procedures. We hope BPK RI will continue to guide us so that implementation is carried out properly and does not lead to negative impacts," Mualem added.

The Government of Aceh views these recommendations not merely as administrative findings but as strategic guidance to improve public financial management and service delivery.

WTP as a Professional Audit Assessment

Hery Subowo, Advisor for Risk Management at BPK RI, explained that the audit of financial statements is intended to provide a professional opinion on the fairness of financial reporting. The assessment is based on compliance with regulations, the effectiveness of internal control systems, adherence to government accounting standards, and the completeness of financial disclosures.

He also emphasized that a WTP opinion does not necessarily mean that financial reports are free from errors or irregularities.

"Based on the audit of the Aceh Government's 2025 financial report and the implementation of the action plan for follow-up recommendations, BPK RI issues an Unqualified Opinion," Hery Subowo stated.

Appreciation and Future Outlook

BPK RI expressed appreciation to the Government of Aceh and all related institutions for their cooperation throughout the audit process. At the same time, it stressed the importance of continuously improving the quality of accountability in regional budget management (APBD).

Special attention is also expected to be given to the management of development programs, including those funded through Aceh's Special Autonomy Fund, to ensure that benefits are optimally delivered to the public.

With the eleventh consecutive WTP achievement, the Government of Aceh is expected to maintain consistency in financial governance while further strengthening transparency and accountability standards. (IDNC)
