JAKARTA | INDATANDEWS.COM - The Government of Aceh has intensified its political and administrative efforts to accelerate the revision of the Law on the Government of Aceh (UUPA), reinforcing its commitment to strengthening the region's special autonomy framework.
A strategic dialogue involving the Aceh Provincial Government, the Aceh Regional Legislative Council (DPR Aceh), and the Forum Bersama of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) and Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), known as Forbes Aceh, was held on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Aceh Government Representative Office in Jakarta. The meeting took place from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m."The joint dialogue is essential, as the UUPA revision is also about shaping Aceh's future," Governor Muzakir Manaf (Mualem) said through his spokesperson, Dr. Nurlis Effendi.

To ensure an organized discussion process, Aceh Regional Secretary M. Nasir was appointed to lead the coordination. Under his facilitation, the meeting evolved into an in-depth exchange of political and institutional viewpoints.
The DPR Aceh leadership also participated at a high level, led by Chairman Zulfadhli (Partai Aceh), alongside Vice Chairpersons Saifuddin Muhammad (Nasdem), Ali Basrah (Golkar), and Salihin (PKB). All faction leaders within the provincial parliament were also present, reflecting broad institutional unity.

The collective attendance signaled a rare level of political cohesion, with all parties aligning on the importance of strengthening Aceh's autonomy framework.
At the opening of the session, Secretary M. Nasir conveyed the governor's appreciation to Forbes Aceh and the DPR Aceh for their sustained efforts in advancing the revision process."All parties are working tirelessly to push the UUPA revision forward," Nasir stated.
DPR Aceh Speaker Zulfadhli also praised Forbes Aceh, describing its role in the national parliament as vital for representing Aceh's interests."Your role is extraordinary; you show strong dedication to Aceh," he said.
"What matters is that we speak with one voice and share one goal—the welfare of Aceh," Khalid said.
The meeting concluded with a collective agreement that the UUPA revision must prioritize stronger regional authority and improved fiscal structure for Aceh.
