JAKARTA | INDATANEWS.COM – Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf, widely known as Mualem, met with Secretary-General of Indonesia's Ministry of Finance, Robert Leonard Marbun, at the ministry office in Central Jakarta on Thursday (May 14, 2026). During the meeting, the provincial government formally requested additional budget allocations for Aceh.
According to Aceh Government spokesperson Dr. Nurlis Effendi, the discussion focused on the province's financial requirements and broader efforts to support development programs and public welfare in Aceh.

Nurlis explained that the Aceh government is optimistic that the Ministry of Finance will carefully review the submitted budget proposals. During the meeting, Muzakir Manaf directly presented several urgent regional priorities to ministry officials.
"The Ministry of Finance has agreed to review our proposals and accommodate them where possible. We will provide updates once the official figures are finalized," Nurlis said.
He further emphasized that Governor Muzakir Manaf remains closely engaged with developments in Aceh and is actively working to address the region's challenges.
"The governor is committed to improving conditions in Aceh. His goal is to ensure more stable and better living standards for the people," he added.

Muzakir Manaf was accompanied by his special staff member, Teuku Irsyadi. From the Ministry of Finance, several senior officials attended the meeting, including Director of Fiscal Balance Systems Subandono, Director of Village Funds and Special Autonomy Jaka Sucipta, and Head of Planning and Finance Bureau Wiwin Istianti.
According to Nurlis, Muzakir Manaf has been staying in Jakarta for about a week to explore various opportunities to advance Aceh's interests, including economic cooperation and access to central government support programs.
"He is working to open opportunities for investment and economic development, while also strengthening cooperation with ministries for the benefit of Aceh," Nurlis said.

Nurlis also noted that the governor clearly outlined Aceh's current conditions and financial needs during the meeting.
"The governor presented the region's challenges transparently. We now hope for positive results and await the Ministry of Finance's decision," he concluded. (IDNC)
