MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM – The North Sumatra Provincial Government has expressed appreciation for its long-standing collaboration with the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) of North Sumatra, which has played a significant role in implementing various family development programs across the region.
The recognition was conveyed by North Sumatra Deputy Governor Surya during a farewell courtesy visit by the Head of the BKKBN Representative Office of North Sumatra, Fatmawati, held on the 9th floor of the Governor's Office on Jalan Diponegoro, Medan, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.Strengthening Synergy for Family Development Programs
Read Also:Surya emphasized that the partnership between the provincial government and BKKBN has been highly effective, particularly in supporting the national "Bangga Kencana" program (Population, Family Planning, and Family Development), population management efforts, accelerated stunting reduction, and the strengthening of family resilience.
"We appreciate the cooperation that has been established so far. The integration of national and regional programs has been aligned with the vision and mission of North Sumatra Province. Existing programs will continue to be improved while shared challenges will be addressed collectively," Surya stated.

The Deputy Governor also extended apologies should any inconvenience have occurred during the course of the partnership, while expressing hope that the established cooperation would continue despite the leadership transition within the North Sumatra BKKBN office.
He stressed that the success of the Bangga Kencana program in North Sumatra is not the achievement of a single institution, but rather the result of collective efforts across provincial and district governments."The success of this program would not have been possible without the dedicated work of Ms. Fatmawati and her team. We sincerely thank her and hope her successor will continue and further improve these programs," Surya added.
