MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM – The Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of North Sumatra has officially adopted recommendations on the Governor's Accountability Report (LKPj) for the 2025 fiscal year. The decision was taken during a plenary session held at the DPRD building on Jalan Imam Bonjol, Medan, on Monday, May 11, 2026.

Supervisory Role of DPRD Strengthened
Deputy Governor of North Sumatra, Surya, emphasized that the DPRD's recommendations play a crucial role in overseeing regional administration. He noted that the findings serve as an important mechanism to enhance accountability and improve governance performance.Read Also:

The provincial government remains committed to driving economic growth, improving human resources, accelerating infrastructure development, maintaining social stability, and ensuring equitable welfare for the people," Surya stated.

Surya acknowledged that several development programs still require optimization. He confirmed that the provincial government will follow up on all DPRD recommendations in accordance with applicable regulations.
He also stressed the importance of strengthening coordination among regional work units, improving financial accountability, and ensuring more effective implementation of development programs to maximize public benefits.
Focus on Strategic Development Priorities
The DPRD North Sumatra highlighted several strategic focus areas in its recommendations, including macroeconomic strengthening, bureaucratic and staffing reform, sustainable enhancement of regional revenue, and improved management of regional assets."The provincial government believes that through a harmonious partnership between the executive and the legislature, we can jointly achieve a more advanced, high-quality, and sustainable North Sumatra," Surya concluded.
Following the plenary session, the deputy governor also participated in further parliamentary discussions, including faction responses to a draft regional regulation on social protection for vulnerable workers, as well as debates on youth affairs and consumer protection.
