DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - Advisor of the Association of Early Childhood Education Organizers (PP PAUD) in Deli Serdang Regency, Jelita Asri Ludin Tambunan, has called on all elements of society to further strengthen child protection efforts. She emphasized that this is a crucial step in building a healthy, intelligent, strong-character, and future-ready generation in line with Indonesia's vision of the "Golden Generation 2045."
The appeal was delivered during her participation in the National Children's Day celebration, which was accompanied by a competition among kindergarten (TK/RA) institutions across Deli Serdang Regency. The event was held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Balairung Building of the Deli Serdang Regency Government.On the occasion, Jelita stressed that love and care for children should not merely be expressed through words but must be realized through concrete actions, including proper education, a safe environment, and the fulfillment of children's basic needs.
According to her, children need sufficient opportunities to learn, be creative, and develop their abilities from an early age. Adequate nutrition and proper healthcare, she added, are also important factors in ensuring optimal growth and healthy development."Give children unlimited love and strengthen family resilience so they are not easily influenced by things that could threaten their future," she said.
She also highlighted the importance of preventing various forms of violence against children, including physical, psychological, and sexual violence. Negative experiences during childhood, she said, can have serious impacts and affect children's mental condition as well as their future.
Therefore, Jelita encouraged parents, teachers, and communities to continue improving awareness and education regarding child protection. These efforts are essential to ensure that every child has the right to proper development and the opportunity to reach their full potential."We must work together to protect children from actions that can harm their mental health, physical safety, and future. Let us instill faith, strong character, and knowledge so they can grow into resilient individuals," she said.
In addition to child protection, Jelita emphasized the importance of shaping children's character from an early age. Education, positive habits, and activities that encourage creativity are important foundations for personality development.She stated that children who receive early character education will grow into a healthy and intelligent generation with strong moral values, enabling them to contribute to the nation's development in the future.
Jelita also called on all PP PAUD officials at the regency level to become more active in caring for every child without exception. She emphasized that children with disabilities also deserve support, guidance, and equal opportunities to develop their abilities.
In her view, child protection and care must cover all groups so that no child is left behind in accessing education, protection, and opportunities for personal development.She expressed hope that the active involvement of all parties would help create a child-friendly environment in Deli Serdang Regency. Through cooperation between families, educational institutions, government authorities, and communities, children can grow in an environment that supports their physical, mental, and intellectual development.
She appealed to parents and teachers to continue teaching children the importance of fairness and sportsmanship. The ability to accept both victories and defeats, she said, is an important learning process that can strengthen children's mental resilience.
Jelita hopes that such activities will become an initial step in discovering and developing the potential of children in Deli Serdang. This initiative is also in line with the commitment of the Deli Serdang Regency Government to continue expanding educational and extracurricular activities."I hope the children of Deli Serdang grow up healthy, intelligent, and strong in character, and achieve a bright future," she concluded.
