SEMARANG | INDATANEWS.COM - North Sumatra Vice Governor Surya attended the opening of the 31st National Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ Nasional XXXI) in Semarang, Central Java, on Saturday evening, September 12, 2026. Surya's presence reflected the North Sumatra Provincial Government's support for the province's delegation, which is competing at the national MTQ with the aim of achieving strong results and upholding the region's reputation.

Surya attended the event on behalf of North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution. He was tasked with supporting the delegation and conveying the governor's message to members and officials of the North Sumatra team.
Surya said Governor Bobby Nasution had delivered a special message to all members of the delegation, urging them to maintain their health throughout the competition. "My presence here is a mandate from the governor to convey this message to the entire North Sumatra delegation," Surya said.
He then conveyed the governor's warm regards and prayed that all participants would be granted health, strength and protection during their stay in Semarang.
"The governor sends his regards and prays that all participants will always be given health, strength and the protection of Allah Almighty throughout the competition," Surya said.
The message also underscored the North Sumatra Provincial Government's concern for the efforts of participants representing the province at the national religious competition. Surya expressed hope that the government's support would provide additional motivation for participants to face every stage of the competition with confidence.
In addition to maintaining their health, Surya urged participants to remain focused and prepare as thoroughly as possible. In his view, concentration would be a crucial factor in allowing the delegation to demonstrate the abilities they had worked intensively to develop before departing for Semarang.

Surya reminded the entire delegation to pay close attention to their physical condition and stamina throughout National MTQ XXXI. At the same time, he urged participants to remain focused on their competitions and maintain their fighting spirit despite facing competitors from various regions.
"Maintain your stamina and concentration. Our shared hope is that the entire delegation can deliver its best performance, uphold the good name of our region and, God willing, return to North Sumatra with the title of champion, making the people of North Sumatra proud," he said in closing.
