Linge Police and Residents Join Forces to Clear Flood Damage in Aceh Tengah

ACEH TENGAH | INDATANEWS.COM Officers from the Linge Police Sector (Polsek Linge) under the Aceh Tengah Police (Polres Aceh Tengah) worked alongside local residents to carry out large-scale cleanup efforts following severe flooding in Dusun Binje, Pantan Nangka Village, Linge District, Aceh Tengah Regency. The joint operation took place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at around 09:20 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB).

The coordinated effort reflects a strong partnership between law enforcement and the community in accelerating recovery after a hydrometeorological disaster. Officers from Polsek Linge were not only present to maintain security but also actively participated in clearing flood debris alongside residents.

The operation involved personnel from the Linge Police Sector, the village head (Reje) of Pantan Nangka, the Aceh Tengah Disaster Management Agency (BPBD Aceh Tengah), as well as local authorities and community members. Together, they systematically removed mud and debris from affected areas.

Heavy Mud, Debris, and Damaged Infrastructure Cleared

Cleanup efforts focused on removing thick mud, fallen trees, building materials, and damaged structural components swept away by floodwaters. Community access roads were also cleared, while drainage channels were restored to ensure smooth water flow and prevent further flooding.

To support the operation, BPBD Aceh Tengah deployed heavy machinery, including an excavator, which proved crucial in reaching difficult areas and significantly speeding up the cleanup process.

Security Ensured Throughout the Operation

Aceh Tengah Police Chief, Muhamad Taufiq, through Linge Police Sector Chief IPTU Aidil Novrizal, emphasized that police personnel were deployed to ensure safety and order throughout the cleanup activities.

"Our officers are monitoring the operation to ensure that the removal of flood debris is carried out safely and in an orderly manner. We continue to coordinate closely with BPBD and the community to accelerate recovery in the affected areas," said IPTU Aidil Novrizal.

Collective Effort for Faster Recovery

He also highlighted that collaboration between the police, local government, and residents is crucial to restoring normal living conditions as quickly as possible. The joint effort is expected to help rebuild infrastructure and allow daily activities in the affected village to return to normal soon. (IDNC)
