ACEH TENGAH | INDATANEWS.COM ~ The Aceh Tengah Police have intensified preventive efforts against forest and land fires by increasing patrols and strengthening public awareness campaigns across the region. The measures aim to reduce fire risks during the ongoing dry season.
Preventive Patrols During the Dry SeasonThe Aceh Tengah Police have expanded routine patrol operations down to precinct and substation levels as fire risks continue to rise amid prolonged dry conditions.

Public Education for Farmers and Plantation Owners
Read Also:On the ground, officers are engaging directly with farmers and plantation operators, urging them to stop using slash-and-burn methods for land clearing. Instead, they are encouraged to adopt safer and more environmentally friendly agricultural practices.
The police also reminded the public of the legal consequences of arson under Law No. 41/1999 on Forestry, Law No. 18/2004 on Plantations, and Law No. 32/2009 on Environmental Protection and Management.

According to AKBP Muhamad Taufiq, preventing forest and land fires requires strong collaboration between authorities and local communities.
"Through consistent patrols and continuous education, we hope to raise public awareness so that forest and land fires can be prevented early," he stated.He also emphasized that joint efforts are essential to protect the environment and avoid smoke pollution disasters in Aceh Tengah. (IDNC)
